Its not fighting, its arguing with constructive feedback. The persons that dont get that and cannot handle that, will start fights, then i agree with you.

There are still people here that care about CT, it doesnt matter if they have been inactive 125 days or 2 days, everyone that enjoyed CT just knows what they are talking about.


I think these suggestions would help the server in a simple way in the near future.

   
• Improve convoy bonus. Stimulate that 40+ convoy feeling again.
• (maybe) Car trading, just for the fun and give an extra dimension to carshows.
• No more achievements PLEASE.
• Complete the mission variarty to island like MC/sandus.
• Allow staff to held regular events paid from server money.
• (maybe) change the host location
• Businesses ( for example, make every gas station ownable and set own prices ( with a min/max rate offcourse)
• Allow us admins to do something about club bases being hogged, but we are limited if it comes to this. '' Yes we can audit them but thats all we can do actually'' I would suggest, if we find a club base to be breaking rules, lets increase the base price for a month as penalty and stimulation to get things organised again.

You basically listed everything thats wrong right now and gave a solution and honestly, i know, if these things or even a couple where done.. i'd be straight back in again playing as much as i could (a levels suck!)... All these things would add a entire new level to the server, freshen things up and the idea of trades and businesses would really spark a more social community and more interaction between players besides ramming

I played and kinda co-owned/owned (it got shut down, we got the code as my friend was a friend of the owner, we started it up again) a server with businesses and it was fucking awesome, even though i could spawn myself money i enjoyed making it and buying a business just to say to the guys i played with, i own that.

Its such a cool feature and adds something new todo/aim for, right now what do we work for? we dont work for fun, we work for achievements, houses, cars and clubs etc..

Exactly what we all are thinking.

I was talking to Ethan last night about "business sense" and yes, this isn't a business, it's a game, however for mick and his server to be successful, it needs to be run with "business sense".

What sense does it make, to build bomb proof windows, if all the doors are open?

What sense does it make, to build a ddos protected server, if it's too laggy for the majority to play on?

The majority of the server playerbase before i left were European, yet the server was moved to America, hosted by a primarily web based company, not game based simply for that protection.

I see why mick did this, he did it to protect the server, we were in a dark place, constant crashes and unplayable. However it was wrong, there are ddos protected servers in Europe.

The main loss for me of this game was going from an average 30-50 ping, to 180-200 ping, some people went higher. A lot of people when they first try to play somewhere, they don't scope out the community, the bonuses, the fun that could be had, they generally search for "high amount of players + lowish ping", then they scope out the community. I won't "establish" myself anywhere, if i have to put him with constant latency.

As for trading, yes, players need the ability to control their finances, car shows would be so different! Just imagine someone rolling up in a car you want, and someone says "Can i buy that?" it's sold to that player and they win the car show, fantastic, player bonding and luck.

Scamming, scamming is naughty, but at the end of the day the players fault for being scammed, if trading is bought in, scamming from trades should NOT be reportable, this is the main reason why people are worried about it, the forums will be overloaded with people complaining about stolen cars.

Middlemen are the way to move forward, you have one neutral person you both trust, who takes the money, and the car off the people selling, he then puts the car to the person buying, and the money to the person selling while taking a 5% transaction fee. Thus, he makes money for his time, the two people trading get what they need.

Garages, ok, so we have houses, what about those who don't want or need a house? A Garage allotment somewhere would be awesome, 100k - 300k per car, can't spawn there, but it enables you to buy a car, the most slots you have i.e. you buy a 10 slot garage, you're allowed 10 cars, achievements do not give you 4x cars in the garage idea. It's a new idea, that's different, scary, but could work!

There is an infinite source of games out there, that you don't necessarily need to copy, but can use for inspiration, to implement into CT.

Open your minds, and for god sake, only except a no from Mick if your idea is good, constructive and fair.

that garage idea... so good!! that would add benefits for new players too, we all the know the guy who joins 'how much is truck pls?' 'where me buy a truck?' 'oh i need house?' 'where me buy house?' 'house too much money though!' few minutes later they quit..

would be easy to map too, could work in many ways.. personally id say best to have a place, kinda like club base island with some garages. Dont know if it'd be best to use a system that used one simple garage that has a CP zone which you enter then select the car you want to spawn. This way you can have a 'master garage' that everyone uses or even a few of them and each time you want more slots you have too enter the shop and buy more.. could be complicated though

So it can be done, this is proof there is still a community, us people on this thread are only the tip of the iceberg.

another system like garages i think could work..

you go to the shop, purchase a 'slot' (could name it differently)
you can get anywhere between 1 - x slots (x is how many mick, coder thinks is acceptable)
then you can park in public car parks/clubs/truck stops..

without the need for a house it means guys like me who only play from time to time and don't want to hog houses can still keep those cars we enjoy using or the trucks we need to pay our debts (sandman, i'll pay you eventually  )

I think wannabes/ newer players deserve some attention too.
I have seen many wannabes/ rookies that quit CT because the 100 truck load threshold for a house seems so high, and i have to agree.
I think lowering it to 50 would be ok, and stimulate rookies to keep playing here.

Thats the beauty of this suggestion, the new guys get a simple and fast way to own vehicles. The veterans get a cheaper alternative, also the chance of a nice house becoming free would be increased because some guys may prefer garages. The semi-quit guys like me get to keep those cars they love and still have a decent way to earn money. Its a win, win situation for everyone. The only bad i see in this system is the time to code and possibly a large amount of cars on the map at once but thats why you limit the amount a garage.

if its limited it shouldn't cost too much especially for 1-2 slots but if it was allowed to have high slot garages they should become more expensive in my opinion

while i like the discussion here about houses, im going to say this:

IIRC streamers (especially incogntios) can have up to 2000 pickups on screen at once (streamed in*) It's a good idea carry on disussing it howerver:

Garages and stuff fall into the major game changer category. I will consider them. But only when the bug reports section is relatively free and there isn't an update waiting to be pushed to main server.
