You've got a week to convince me. The community being the way it is made me resign as server scripter. Maybe if things do change and mick takes a few hours each weekend to join his own server, staff team sort their shit out (they know what i mean) maybe then i'll work a bit harder and get updates out, not little ones. The game-changing ones where you actually see them.

I did things here that created so much fun, including spend hours on a Dumper Events on chilliad multiple times using administrative commands

I've not known you much dobby but from the work ive seen you do so far you must be a swell guy but this isnt how it works my friend. Lindsey doesnt need to 'convince' anyone of what type of person she is or how much she cares, shes shown that more than anyone ive ever seen! The work shes done for this server is crazy and personally the time shes had off has probably opened her mind, a fresh look at things.

The way you say the community made you resign does that not make you think you are as bad as them (in some ways, no disrespect intended). They want the updates you could create, you can make those big game changing updates and make the server fun again, You'd be a legend in their eyes then but instead they see you as the guy that quit and just does the average day to day moderation stuff (also a lot on forums, cookie for that, you do so much on forums which is great!).

Hope you understand what im saying is all the community needs is those changes you speak about and maybe it'll open peoples eyes a bit too how we can be compared to how we are... i may have quit but i still think the effort should be made to get back to the fun days instead of how we are now. Nobody wants the server to 'die' but without updates we have nothing besides a dying community? The updates bring the community together.

Dobby has one hell of a point you know... it takes effort to read through uncommented and spaghetti code made when the person who was scripting it was learning it as he was writing it, and then literally put the jigsaw piece in the huge-ass puzzle of what is called Convoy Trucking... why put in the effort when the community needs to be glued back together first?

oh i don't doubt he has honestly, hes done more than i did a thousand times over! i respect him for that. Personally i think the updates should be the glue to put us back together? think about it without the updates nobody really wants too play as much anymore? so if something new is added a few of us will come back try it out and hopefully together then we have to work as a team instead of against each other all the time

That's my point Joshy, it's not just updates that can save the server, it's the people with the "one for all" or "i only care about a select group of friends" that is the problem, if we can have serverwide events, that aren't club focused getting the whole community involved, more people may make new friends, newbies have a reason to say "wow, that was fun" and stay around to play some more and it's something that possibly might end up on Youtube, which is a bonus.

It's easy to say "oh it's because there's no updates" well, that's a partial reason, people get bored and move on, Ethan said it, he's right, there are a lot of other fun games around that people could play, there is still no reason that every time someone new comes, they can't hang around and build a new community.

The old players need to kick start that off, need to make the newbies feel included, because that's how i stayed when i was a newb, then and only then will people want to spend time updating the game, because at that point, it would be worth the time spent on it.

The variables were simple once you get the hang of them. I've still got a few old filterscript tests left on my PC that i was testing (privately) to ensure 0 bugs (compilation takes ages,im impatient). That and a (bit) of MySQL knowledge i have now would work well.

It's not because of the lack of updates, or getting bored of the server. I would of quit long ago, it was due to the fact that every suggestion topic i looked through for ideas on what people would like was locked each time without an explanation. Yes, mick does need to spend time on his own server. I mean c'mon who doesn't want to pester mick all the time right?, i thought, if i'm scripting for someone at least the owner can do is come on the server once and a while to say hello, or his famous "No". Yes, there was updates planned (and probably will go ahead once matias/mick get their answer) that could bring back CT. But its not just down to me, matias, mick or admins.

Its down to the community too. Would you want to play on a server that's plauged by trolls, or people that constantly break rules? I doubt it. As for the last part rockey:

"The updates bring the community together". No, no no and no. The community brings the community together. Everyone gets on well, everyone gets along and us mods can do our work in peace. Since mod i can't remember a time longer than an hour when someone was reported for accidentally crashing into them in a securicar.

There is alot of stuff that needs to be fixed and done, and with everyone bitching about it won't help or make it work faster. Things are not being made or worked on since there is no point of making it, doing something and then waiting months to actually get it on the server(waiting for mick ofc) just doesn't work anymore. ^ This has earned you a cookie benny pretty much explained my reason right here why i resigned. You get a GZ Slots? from me but yeah i know how you feel, its even worse as scripter seeing a command bug, and knowing you've fixed it, but having months to wait to see it added to main server is rather annoying

When the owner no longer shows a real interest in his project, its bound to negative spirals. We all know that mick hasnt been active anymore since early 2012. Everything after that was just a 1 day inspiration and then 3 months nothing.

The lack of updates make things boring, and to be honest i always considered achievements a thing that destroyed the real fun out of convoy trucking, which was to my opinion the massive convoys of 40 players and above.

I have suggested, i have contacted mick about improving the convoy bonu per player that gets added to the convoy, no response. In the end it is convoy trucking, but it hasnt felt like that since achievements got added to my opinion.

My main note: Who shit in your coffee today? you know me and matias were making changes, of which im not going to post here, since the server hasn't been updated since changes were made, so said bugs are still there.

That's what im doing in this thread. I'm not "casting" blame. Its the truth. Mick's a cool guy, Konali's a cool guy, but honestly, we all have flaws. I act too quick with reports, Matias faps too much (joke) Konali needs to stop expecting so much. Mick needs to say Yes. You have flaws too Lindsey. I assumed since you made this topic, why can't we discuss each "flaw" in the server and fix it here. In full view of everyone. Instead of behind a steadily declining staff team.

What i meant and what i noticed since you guys became scripter , the ''i know everything better attitude's''. Yes mick has a list of suggestions rejected in the past, but does it fucking hurt to let CT players discuss in a good suggestion topic. I didnt say you didnt do things at all, but you guys made promisses you couldnt keep. Then that comes back to bite you in the ass.

Im only talking about alot of good suggestions i have seen lately and all getting locked because you guys are now scripter and suddenly think that its best for the server to lock everything without thinking about it actually and pitching it to mick. In the end, if the community wants it, i would always consider something like that, and if it cant work, i would provide good reasons why not.

It gets locked for a fucking reason, we have access to the script, we know how it works, and we know it wont be possible to add it in a proper way. But meh, i dont have to explain you how it works, by the way, i left scripters team, you can try and script everything what mick wanted. I finally graduated yesterday from high school, i was gonna work on the tasks but meh, looks like people doesnt have patience.
