What's the goal of the administrators?

All my posts are addressed to mick since I just found out that he's the ONLY person in charge of the development of the server. Apparently admins got offended because they thought I'm talking about them.

I have a very simple curiosity, 99.9% of the suggestions are being denied and locked (moderators show us a thread in which the admin listed all the things that have been requested and denied). After reading that thread, I noticed that every imaginary suggestion that we might have is listed there...in other words there's nothing left to suggest and that means: Suggestions Thread is purely for esthetics.

My curiosity is very simple, I want to read some "competent" reasons for which every single suggestion is being denied. And I don't want answers like "it can't be done" because a lot of the suggestions CAN BE DONE !!!

Oh, and special greetings to the one who's going to lock the topic because my topic content isn't what the administration board would like to hear/read.

99% have been locked because they either have been put into the server or they haven't. The others are up for discussion.
You are playing on a server that is nearly three years old. Of course things have been suggested. All the obvious suggestions have already been suggested. Why were some denied? A lot were denied because the server scripter / owner didn't like them or thought they would make things too easy or maybe the suggestion would annoy some people.
All suggestions are considered but some just wont happen because they give too much of an advantage or they aren't needed.

As you might know, this server has only one scripter. In the 2,5 years that this server exists, we had hundreds of suggestions.
So i think you can imagine to that the first 3 times you get a good reason why it cant be added, but after so many times seeing the same thing getting suggested, the motivation why it cannot be added will be shorter:P


Besides that, Mick has to decide if a suggestion is worthly enough to be added to the gamemode. He reads every suggestion and every now and then he does add suggestions that where made by players. But some things are just not suitable or cost to much time to create.

To avoid a future conflict because after reading what I posted, I somehow get the wrong idea too. I don't have a problem with suggestions being denied, that's not my point. It's not my server, I'm not an administrator so they can do what ever they want with it.

My point is that I would like to see a reason or a simple answer instead of someone saying NO and locking the topic. For example if I suggest "Hey, why don't you multiply the house slots by 1 million", someone will come and say no and then lock the topic. What's so hard to say "it can't be done cause the vehicle slots on the server are not unlimited" and then lock the topic if you love it so much.

That's my point, give a simple reply for which the idea was rejected instead of locking the topic and leaving 10 billion suggestions without a competent deny reason.

I want to know for example the reason for which fire truck missions or boat missions won't be added because I couldn't find a reply with a reason for their rejection. Oh and I'm also very curious about ELM (the police lights mod). From what I understand it's not allowed because other players can see it? It's that the only reason? Well how many actual players have a problem with it? I personally prefer to see a player with ELM then that stupid stock effects.

ELM is not allowed since it restores your car health back to 1000 and it means health hack that ends with a ban.

The mod fixes your car by a stupid reason, by the way theres a new ELM mod that doesnt restore your vehicle health, someone posted it at this forum, you maybe can search for it.

That's why I said the Suggestions Thread is purely for esthetics, nobody cares what ideas we have. Administration board adds new things according to their own plan and ideas, not OUR ideas. So here comes the initial question, what's the goal of the administrators? The server is fun...til you start finishing your last achievements and then realize you have a lot of money and can't do anything with em. The fun factor kinda goes away after playing for a while. Since every suggestion is denied exactly for the reason you insistently highlighted, even the tiniest idea that might make the server a little bit more fun and enjoyable has no chance.

So with a more direct approach, we don't really do anything on the server except driving around. No fun way to spend money, no time management features, no nothing. The difference between a member with 100 million $ and 1 million $ is that the richer member can buy a lot of useless cars...that's it.

To me, honestly it looks like the goal is to keep the server as boring as possible and rejecting any "fun feature" while hoping the members won't notice it or won't leave. Well they won't leave because the server is addicting (I'll give you that) but they do noticed the lack of interest from the administration board in developing the server based on our ideas too and they're not happy about it. The only problem is that 99% of them will never point this problems out cause they are scared of getting banned and it's easier to look good in the admins eyes and totally agree with them. That's why I am the only person who will make this problems public cause I'm idiot enough to do it.

As player and as staff member i have suggested several things that got added, as did other members of CT.
We as administration , do not decide what gets added or not, Mick does, and he has always done that, eventually we got to a list of rejected things.


If you are to stubborn to realise that topics that make it to the ''previously suggested/rejected list'' have been rejected before WITH a reason. This mick or staff locks topics that have been rejected before.


Instead of complaining, and making false accusations you could indeed try to suggest something usefull yourself.


If you are to stubborn to read what i have posted before, it is not our fault that you dont get the simple thing that we only have 1 scripter, and only 1 boss. Admins and mods do not decide if something shoudl get added, mick does.
I suggested ~20 things, 5 got accepted, 15 rejected.

Anyway, enough of this subject, I had fun taking out the ghosts from CVTs closet, can't wait for the server to come online and see how many admins will hate me and can't wait to ban me for something. As you probably noticed, authority doesn't mean anything to me.

I love a good arguement. And yes you did before you edditted your replies. But lets go back to the point, No the administration team does not decide whats get added or not. The only thing we have influence on is setting rules to most recent standards, enforcing those rules and resolving problems.


Besides that, we are just like normal players, we have to wait and see what mick brings us for suprises as in new updates.
As i explained before, he is just alone, and a script needs to be tested very carefully before releasing it, and it might be exploited if it isnt tested carefully.  So no, since this server exists 2,5 years+ now, alot of suggestions have been made, and yes alot get locked, but that is all because mick at some moment said/stated that it cannot be done or it is not worht it, or it just is against mick's plan with Ct.


I map for CT, that is how i can make it fun here, we get alot of freedom as mappers, and i want to thank mick for that. So you might have good suggestions, but they will not be as good in mick his eyes.

I didn't know that every moderator and admin on this server (except the owner) has no power over the things I mentioned in my previous posts. So for this, I'm saying sorry to all the mods/admins even though I wasn't addressing to them.

2. No, I didn't called you lazy since you're name isn't even mentioned. I say again, the rule that Marcc gave me can pretty much mean the same thing I said (the thing that you decided it's me calling you lazy). So I ask again, who's the original poster of those 2 rules and how did you come to this conclusion, me calling you lazy? I simply interpreted them.

PS - I'm pretty sure you are quit aware of my behavior on the server, I use the chat once every 10 years, I ignore almost everybody, I just drive and mind my own business. I'm not looking to be Miss Popular and I can back up this statement by simply saying that I have only 1 friend I can count on this server (and that is sardarji who I can safely say he is close to a true friend in reality even though I never met the dude) and a few people who are nice to me and we simply exchange a few words...and you're still part of this people cause overall, you've been nice to me and helped me out with a lot of problems. In other words my "CVT social life" is almost in-existent because I have no interest in making myself noticed. Mick made that rules. You must check this POST before suggest something, if you dont then all what you suggest if its already on that list it will be locked. Is it too hard to read it? The last 2.5 years every player that suggested something readed it and had no complain.

That is the reason. Mick is the owner of this server, it is his creation. He can do what he wants with it.

You go build something that requires over 30,000 lines of code and then ask some random person to do whatever they want to it. It doesn't work like that. He does what he wants with his property.

For about 6 months I was the scripter of a server called Project: Los Angeles, which was a roleplay server, and when I started, the script was just under 90,000 lines. When I left, it was well over 110,000 lines. Point being, I added A LOT of new features to that script, but being that I was lead developer, I also dealt with suggestions. Heres an example. Player A wants me to rescript the nametag system. Well, I can do it, it's not a judge of my abilities, its a judge of work. Rescripting the nametag system for that script would have taken 5-10 man hours of work, because of how integral it was.

Now, on to CT, I imagine that in 30,000+ lines of CVT, many of the systems in CVT are very proprietary and scripted for ONE possible situation. Thats the luxury of making a specialized GM, you dont have to make it work with ANYTHING, as long as it can work with itself. Now, when you start adding in some of the things that are suggested, many times it would require an entire RESCRIPT of a core system, which takes A LOT of time and effort.

Pile on to that that mick is in college full time and has very little time for this server, you get a standstill in development. Now, I would love to offer my services to mick, but the fact that he doesn't want anyone to help him, coupled with my less than perfect reputation with this server, it probably will never happen.

Now do you understand? Until you actually start scripting, you have absolutely ZERO right to bitch about anything related to it. It is not easy, PAWN is an old and outdated language adapted to a game that isn't perfect by far, so writing certain systems is many, many times harder than it should be, like if SA-MP supported LUA or some other, more modern and more standard language.

I might as well add onto what Storm has touched on.

Most of you guys don't know much about me, or my past, at least, but I used to be associated with a gaming forum which has been long since forgotten. Most of the gaming forum was revolved around game hacks / cheats, and I got extremely interested. I had started scripting in JavaDocs to make scripts for RSBot, and I had also started working on DirectX hacks for a game called Combat Arms. For me, especially at that age, I found it pretty complicated to service the needs and wants of the community, much less deal with all of the bugs.

Regardless of my background, most scripters and coders, and so forth encounter the same issues. The community demands much more than what just one ( or a few ) person (people) can deal with at any certain occasion. With that, you then have to prioritize these wants. I have seen a lot of the suggestions that get suggested here, and a lot of them are pointless. For me, personally,  I wouldn't waste my time trying to implement something that is pointless to the script, especially because we have other things to do.

As it can be agreed upon by the experienced scripters and coders, adding every little fucking suggestion is a bitch, and nobody is actually willing to do it.

It's not that bad, really. As long as I like the idea, I am easily motivated to make any changes, because I love programming, and i doesn't take me much time as I am a fast coder. But right now I am devoting my time to other projects, which have higher priorities to me at the moment. CT is just one of my projects, but without the doubt it's the biggest one and I am very proud of it.

I find a day or two once in a while to work on it, but apart from adding new features there are things invisible to players that need improving, like optimizing my early parts of the GM, moving some data from textfiles to database, adding admin features. That if anyone is wondering why there's no changelog. Public changelog is only for changes affecting the players.

I was an moderator for over 18 months, and then an administrator for a couple of months, so i know for a fact that there is no hidden agenda or god complex here.

The staff are reading all threads and checking to see if they conform to what is needed, if it's already been suggested and denied, it's just not accepted this is how mick88 operates, the owner and operator of CVT.

I could have stayed a member of staff, moderator, however it would have been pointless.

I don't need to be a staff member to tell you that you're wrong here.
