As noted in a recent report and previous reports, there is nothing in the rules against cops giving someone a ticket or attempting to weigh trucks on the ferry or at the terminals themselves.  This essentially leads to farming of arrests and/or loss of loads from either arrest or falling off the ferry.

As we all know, once the ferry is in motion, you can't really stop.  Even though you may be stopped on the ferry, the game still records you as being in motion cause the ferry is moving.  Therefore you can't do /pay and you can't stop for the weight check.

Also look at the terminals.  We have 30 seconds to empty out the ferry before it leaves for the other terminal.  This is why there is the unwritten rule that those at the terminal should wait for those on the ferry to get off before they get on.

A cop sitting at the terminal could spam the "2" button, issuing those tickets and forcing weighs on trucks.  Each of those vehicles have to stop and do /pay or have the cop perform the weight check, which could potentially keep vehicles from getting off the ferry and therefore they loose their loads as they slide off the ferry cause its now going in the opposite direction.  Throw in the loss for paying for a ferry ride they never took and it could turn into a hard hit in the pocketbook.

TL:dr

Cop rules should add the following rules:

1. Vehicles cannot be fined or weighed while on the ferry or while the ferry is in the motion.
2. Vehicles cannot be fined or weighed when at the ferry terminals.  Ferry terminals are defined as the entire area of Los Santos Island, the dock portion at the ferry terminal at Ocean Docks, Los Santos, and the road leading to the ferry terminal at Ocean Docks, Los Santos.

That is what this topic in the Report Players forum is for:

http://www.forum.convoytrucking.net/index.php/topic,16107.0.html

If you suspect a player is logging in just to save the house/vehicles, report them in that topic and the admins will decide to evict them or keep an eye on them for possible future eviction.

Racer, Ethan is referring to this in the Read Before Posting sticky:

Quote from: Ethan - 3rd postany kind of mapping - if you are a server mapper, post in designated area

But as to the topic at hand,  the ferry is unique and I would hate to see it removed.

This is eligible for lock now that it is on the do not suggest list.

Next time, take video and report it.  It is considered farming if they fail to weigh you after pulling you over for control.

Mick, the province of Newfoundland in Canada also has an odd timezone.  It is normally -3.5 GMT

Shockwave, that was answered on another thread.  Those at 3/3 before the change would be ok, but if they got warned again before any of them expired, it would result in a 30 day ban.  If one does expire and they are warned again, they would get a 7 day ban.

Cool, if someone has now 3 warns nothing happens yet, yeah?

no, read the changelog:
Quote from: mick88 on March 27, 2012, 10:44
27 March 2012 2.4 R2
Number of warnings decreased: 7 days ban after 3 warns, 30 days ban for 4 warns within a month

if you get 3 warns within 1 months time, you get a 7 day ban

Ethan, I think he's asking if a player has 3 warns already (from before the change), would they be automatically banned 7 days cause they do have 3/3 or will they still be able to play.

Canadian player up here (Ontario, Canada)

Alot of my playing time is during the day on weekdays and sometimes late at night.  Most times there is not an admin/mod on in the afternoon and late night for my timezone.  These gaps lead to alot of times that the non-english speakers control the main chat, wannabe rammers cause trouble, and car spawners block the LV/WC bridge.  More coverage of these gaps, even if its with Jr. Mods that can just kick the troublemakers would make a huge difference.

Rustler and Sparrow have weapons so I can't see them being added.  Rustler is also an admin vehicle, so guaranteed that it won't be made available for regular players.

Help / Re: Demolition Derby?

This sort of thing has been done before.  Universal Trucking has held a vehicle tag event before where participants tried to ram (tag) other participants.  We created a convoy to identify all participants and ramming was only allowed in a specific area.  The convoy leader was the player that was it.

The areas that have been used were Verdant Meadows, Hunter Quarry, and the LV Airport.

Not sure if it would still be allowed, but it doesn't hurt to make sure from the admin staff.

Guys go away if u dont know how to help. I this issue few months ago. You need to call ur internet operator and ask him to change ur network ID and PASSWORD. that was the only thing that helped. I discovered it after 2 weeks since it happened, gl.

You could'nt help either I suggested MAYBE it was a CVT specific problem which could have helped. Others had suggested that maybe it had to do with software or firewalls. Maybe your solution helped because you don't know how to work a computer machine.

So you go away.

I agree.  Each of us suggested a possible cause.  I, along with my brother, encounter this similar situation when the server is at 96+/100.  The attempt times out and it automatically attempts to make another connection.  Eventually, we either get the grey ban message, SA-MP encounters a crash, or we actually get to the point that we can enter a password.  Very rarely do we get the server full message.  This started after upgrading to ver. 0.3d.

Never think that your solution is the only one.

It is possible that you are attempting to join when the server is full.  For Convoy Trucking, the server is considered full when it is at 96/100 because the final 4 slots are reserved for VIP (donators) and server admins/moderators.

It wouldn't be the first time we emptied out the /forsale list.  There were a few times we did it durring the summer last year.

This "kill" countdown could have unintended results for those players that just happen to be in the area legit and have no intention of house camping.  There are a number of houses that are near gas stations (one in Doherty, SF that is @ a gas station).  There are also a number of pick-up and drop-off locations for various classes (Limo being the greatest one) that are near or at houses.

Marccc's video banning someone today had me on his camping list, but I ended up on that cause I reported a cop that was camping a house, I repaired my limo, and I picked up a player (load) at a house.  All of this was right beside a house that was for sale.  Some limo pickups are difficult to get close enough to pick up the person, especially if vehicles are spawned in the driveway and they have to be pushed out of the way.

I could potenially get killed by this system if I just happen to arrive at a house near a /forsale house and have to fix before pick-up and push a car out of the way so I can pick up.
