General Talk / Micronation in CVT
« on: May 07, 2012, 09:37 »
Due to my extreme boredom, and an interest in micronations, I decided to create one in CVT.

Basic info (TO BE UPDATED):

Country name: People's State of San Andreas
Anthem: [Still pending]
Government: Republic
Language: English (official)
Location: West San Fierro
Population: 3 (at the moment)

1. What is a micronation?

A micronation sometimes referred to as a model country or new country project is an entity that apparently intends to replace, resemble, mock, or exist on equal footing with a recognised and/or sovereign state. Some micronations are created with serious intent, while others exist as a hobby or stunt.

2. What does this micronation have to do with Convoy Trucking?
Since the intent of this is a hobby/project, CVT players are welcome to join the micronation. It might teach some players some lessons that would be useful to the server.

3. Can I join the micronation?
Yes, you need to fill in some paperwork and we shall decide if you may be a citizen of the micronation.

4. Would it be fun?

5. Am I allowed to do everyhing here (except those not allowed based on the server rules)?
Not everything as a written constitution is to be made.

6. Would this involve serious governmental stuff?
Not that serious. Just basic.

7. Am I allowed to visit the micronation?
As of the moment, yes, and without laws.

8. Would there be a separate money system?
If the server would allow, yes.

And yeah, I'm the PRESIDENT.

From Wikipedia:

Kwangmyŏngsŏng-3 is a North Korean earth observation satellite, scheduled for launch between April 1216, 2012 aboard the Unha carrier rocket. The launch is planned to mark the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung, the country's founder.

On March 16, 2012, the Korean Central News Agency reported that the Korean Committee for Space Technology has announced that Kwangmyongsong-3 is to be launched to mark the centenary of Kim Il Sung's birth and the launch details was also announced. In the same announcement it was said that the launch will be made southwards and debris generated from the flight will not impact neighboring countries. On March 17 the North Korean authorities announced it invites foreign experts and journalists to observe a satellite launch. The main newspaper Rodong Sinmun said the rocket will take a "safer" flight path compared to previous launches that strayed into Japanese airspace. The North's official news agency said it had told the International Civil Aviation Organisation, the International Maritime Organisation, the International Telecommunication Union and other bodies about the upcoming launch.

Few days later article released by the Korean Central News Agency stressed that "the peaceful development and use of space is a universally recognized legitimate right of a sovereign state. The satellite launch for scientific researches into the peaceful development and use of space and economic development can by no means be a monopoly of specified countries".

Off Topic / Deep Black Lyrics
« on: November 02, 2011, 12:30 »

In our times, to find the next big superstar of pop music, you don't need to tune in to the radio. You only need to look on YouTube and currently trending is Rebecca Black, a teenager in America that became a superstar because of her song "Friday". The video received over 60 million hits in 2 months. But is it because the video is good? No. They say it is the worst music video ever, the most hated song on YouTube. They say that it is so bad that it is nearly genius, like the saying "It's so bad that it's good."

They say it makes you crazy. They say it destroys life. That is aside from the irritating voice and bad criticisms were given from social networking media.

They say that the song is shallow. But if it is irritating, why does it have over 60 million hits? Is this kind of lyrics shallow?

But why does no one complain about this?

But is it really shallow? Let's dissect it. "Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday". It is a statement of the natural chronology of the days in a week that is according to the Old English, Middle English and Latin origins. It includes the influence of astronomy and mythology.

"We we we so excited." This is a deep expression of feelings because that they are excited, they need to repeat "We we we we we we we" that they need to pee because of extreme happiness. They are so excited that they forgot to use verbs and prepositions. But us Filipinos, we must not laugh because if Rebecca Black has "Friday", we have this: "Monday, it is the day that we met" and like this: (No translation).

Oh, you want deep meanings huh? Listen to this instead.

Oh, your an intellectual. You do not want stupid lyrics? Why? Do you read this books? Do you watch this? So, what if it is shallow? We must not find the deepest meaning of a popular culture because this coincidentally has an expiration date, short shelf life, shallow, fast, accessible, anywhere, available, like candy. Instant satisfaction and nutrition is another topic. If you want deep meanings, read the Bible, do not find it in the lyrics of a song, and the good news is that if you hate Rebecca Black, do not worry because we have a saying that "the faster it floats, the faster it sinks." "Easy come, easy go." Next please.

Off Topic / Show predicts Gaddafi's death
« on: October 29, 2011, 05:42 »

In the opening scene for the pilot, as a throwaway joke, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is shown being judged after his death, with the date given as July 29, 2011. In the year after the Berlin discotheque bombing and the U.S. response, the 1987 pilot was playing off Gaddafi's prominent negative perception by the American public. Twenty-four years later, by coincidence, Gaddafi's death occurred within three months of the "predicted" date.
