Bigger forum avatars

Few of us have seen the recent avatar bug, which got fixed quickly, but I think a lot of us would actually like having bigger avatars on forum, I've messed around in Paint.NET a little and made these two images (mine and Joshy), the avatars have been put as a 156x156 (looks good, could be changed).

Yeah, current ones are pretty small compared to the bugged ones a few days ago, now it just feels too small (sometimes you cant even see what someones avatar is) and making them bigger would look epic  and has no negative side-effects. 156x156 looks good, but maybe 150x150 is more practical.

You can check it out for yourself, if you know CSS and where the setting is for the profile images  is. It doesn't even distort or make the pages any wider.

You're not getting the point, it's not just one image, it's all the people with big avatars, so if you got a page with say 50 post on it, that's 50 images you have to load. Some people have slow internet, not cause they can't afford it, it's cause of their location.

Someone is not gonna move from a house they like just to get better internet so you just wait it out with the slower internet till the faster internet makes it out to you. Also on top of that you have to load the signatures, I bet the people with 3g on their phone, i bet it will take a min to load.

I myself have no problem with the bigger avatars, having slow internet, if you have speeds over 300 kb/s then you won't lagg in game at all but it will take longer to load pages with a ton of images, you have to understand how networking and bandwith works before you throw out an assumption like that.

I was just looking out for the people that have slow internet, think about others and not just yourself.

The bigger avatars haven't been put on yet, yes you have a cache but you still need to load them atlease once, Also i'm sure some people actually clear their cache daily. most tune up programs will clear your cache. so depending how often you tune up your computer ect. You'll be loading those images more then you think.

75 mb for one webpage?
I'd say your cache won't take long to fill up since most browsers limit the amount of cache that is store, unless you have manually set it

75 / 300 = 22.5
22.5 seconds to load that page with 300 kb/s internet.

Trust me, loading one page of the forum is no where near 75mb.
This page alone is not even 4mb. That includes all images.

m9 for a pic to weigh 1.5mb, it must be 1920x1080 and saved as .png, otherwise the same picture saved as .jpg is barely 200Kbs

1.5mb? Are you talking about 1920x1080 .PNG? Because forum avatars are never that big and mostly in .JPG, also while you are at it, can you explain to me while my phone only used 30,61mb in 20 days on Chrome on 3G? This includes browsing Google images etc. and I visited the forum atleast 3 times each day on 3G, opening 5-6 unread topics atleast every day. My avatar is 9,8kb, it's 200x200, most people won't use 1080p avatars and I am sure the forum doesn't even allow that.

Your statement is false since if you check the current avatars, they are loading straight from a URL which can be high-resolution.

To me, it doesn't look right that the avatar is sticking out of the user's info so I'll have to adjust things if/when this gets added.

Your statement is false since if you check the current avatars, they are loading straight from a URL which can be high-resolution.

Would be nice. If it's added there should be an option to choose large, normal, or no avatars displayed. That way everyone wins.

Never said it was rejected, but honestly forum stuff is at a much lower priority than server.

Never said you said it was rejected and this suggestion was made 2 months ago, even if server is more important, this could be implented in those two months seeing as people like it.
