We still call them trucks sometimes, but more regularly we call them semis. Why do you call pickup trucks utes?

I call pickups either a "Truck" or just a "Pickup". I call trucks "Semis", "Trucks" or "18 wheelers".

We call pickups, fourbys or 'four wheel drive' (thats exactly how we say it, not 'four by four')

But 'four wheel drive' could refer to anything with 4 wheel drive...like SUV's. That's why I don't understand Aussies sometimes lol.
