You'll find that thats only one fire, from the Lithgow mine. The rest were deliberately started by teenagers. i think an 11 and 16 year old were charged.

What caused the fires?

The Springwood and Mount Victoria fires were started by powerlines during strong winds, the Rural Fire Service says.
