Street Racing

Ok, first of all I hope this topic won't get locked for some reason.

Among many of my ideas regarding this server, I started talking in the chat about street racing and a lot of members responded very good to this idea and they are very interested. I don't know the overall concept of this server, but having street races too would be cool and it's a very good way to prove your skills and blow off some steam.

Anyway, the idea is very straight forward:
1. We can organize legal races or tournaments by announcing them on the forum. So let's say, once every 2 weeks or 1 week we have a race. For each race, depending on your position, you get points, just like in real life. At the end of the tournament (after a certain number of races) winner get's a substantial price.
2. Street races: we can simply talk in the chat and say "hey, wanna come to LV Bridge and race...?" etc or meet somewhere and do a long race, not a simple drag race. That will mean we will cover a longer distance, we will have to make our way through traffic, deal with speed cameras, cops and so on.

Money Management:
- for tournaments, you will have to pay an entry fee. Let's say 10 players pay 100k to race, winner get's 1 million (just an example)
- for drag races, it's up to the players who race how much money they want to give
- for long street races, I think entry fee works well here too, but of course, it will be lower

NOTE - only tournaments will require a determined amount of money, overall, for street races, it's up the the players

THE MOST IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
This are the things I would like to require from the administration board. If none of them will be taken in consideration, then we will have to organize this races with our own strength and possibilities.

We would like to have:
- a street racers class (I'm still thinking about the things you'll be able to do by selecting this class)
- a countdown that will let you start only when it says "GO". The current countdown allows players to start whenever they want. But one that will block the cars til the go moment will make the start fair
- a script or something for money management. If I'll race someone, I can't be sure if that person will give me the money in case I win. So anything that will give the player its money at the end of the race would be extremely useful
- a possibility to have checkpoints or something...I assume it will be a bit complicated to have this feature

Why I really wish to make this idea come true: no offense, this server is extremely cool, I play almost every day and I always come back to it with a smile on my face. But it could have more features, like the one above. This idea is very fun, who doesn't love street racing? It allows the players to have fun, use their best cars by racing them, win some money, get more interested in this server, it will give cops more things to do (instead of stopping truck for controls, they'll chase street racers)....

So, members, tell me what you think. Administration board, I hope you'll be able to help me.

Yeah, kinda agree with you but I still hope for the best...as I said, if I don't get the support I need from the administration board, I'll just do whatever I can with no help. The end result won't be that cool but hey, it's better then nothing.

-1 unless mick allows objects to be added in game in real time, to block off the road, this probably won't happen. This poses a risk to truckers who may not realize there is a race, then they drive down that road, and BAM, a collision. Then rookies will post reports and so on, you can see where i'm going with this....

The short of it is a no from me.

This is just the first concept dude, I can't think of all things in 5 minutes. Organized races, they will be on the track (from what I understood, this server has a truck). Drag races, you cross a bridge and that's it...what's the chance of hitting someone in a 10-15 second race?

Long street races, yeah, I agree with you here....I'll think of a solution.

But hell man, show some support, I know it's very easy to say NO....

you wanna make a street race go to another server... you want to do a drag race, use the abandoned airfield... simple as that.. there will never be anything anywhere that you block roads so people can race, this is a trucking server not need for speed... however the concept is good and may be supported or liked by alot of people, this is not the server to try it out on... sorry but that the hard truth
this idea sounds better for a freeroam/ stunt type server, not here

ok, screw the idea. Do what you want, it's not my server anyway. I don't know what was in my head when I decided to try to contribute to the development of the server. I'll stick to playing from now on.

Thats why events board is here. Theres no need for official support for street racing. Maybe start up your own racing club thingy just like ol' times.
