Steering wheel

I thought of buying a steering wheel, it looks more fun playing SA rather than using a keyboard. Before I buy one, I would greatly appreciate if I can get some reviews from you guys. Not from a technical standpoint but from a experience standpoint. Is easier or harder to play? More car crashes or less? If the trailer detach, it takes more or less time to attach back using the steering wheel? I don`t chat too much so I will not have a problem using the keyboard to write /w or any other commands.

I would like some feedback from people that is using a steering wheel.

Thank you

Unless you're gonna use it for other games as well, Go with a gamepad with dual joysticks. Steering wheels really don't work in sa-mp unless you link pedals nshit to keys on the keyboard. That takes the "digital" outta the steering wheel.

I have a steering wheel and tried getting it to work with sa-mp it didn't turn out to well.

There is a program called SAAC (San Andreas Advance Control) i think thats the name but it dosen't work in sa-mp. When you try to type nshit it makes your charcter move and you can't type.

If you have a console xbox 360 or ps3 you can use those controllers, xbox 360 controller needs to be wired. The ps3 controller can either be hooked by a wire or you can use bluetooth. Even if you have a ps2 controller you can use that as well but you need a converter that coverts the controller to usb.

With the wheel everything is more difficult . But when u will be "one person as the wheel" it will be more fuuuun :D and u will can controll the car nice.
But the bad thing is that the pedals doesnt works ! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU !

Thanks for sharing that with me, but as I mention in my first topic I am not worrying if it will work I am more worry about the game, if using a steering wheel will make my life on CVT harder or easier  :D

As for the pedals, I will make them work  :)

Will prolly make it harder, you can make the pedals work if you emulate them to w and s, but that takes the digital out. You wouldn't be able to control your speed, it would either be full on or full off.

If you are going to buy a steering wheel so pleas buy Logitech g27

Logitech G27 Rules

Styx

i play with steering wheel also

Deff

There is GTA SA Mod for installing this hardware and using it ingame.
You need to install that and everything will work fine.

For the reviews , search youtube.

IcePick

use SAAC... it works with any steering wheel of any rotation
It even works with my Logitech G27 with 900 degree rotation .... just make sure you save the settings before you close it :P

Steering wheel can be used in San Andreas, but it ain't worth it actually.. steering wheels are made for games like NFS / Gran Turismo / Dirt etc. so if You want to buy it just for GTA - don't do it, it ain't worth. Yes it will work, You will just need to install the USB device or download drivers if the program is  not compatibile with the wheel.

Just an update, I brought a thrustmaster ferrary steering wheel (not sure of the model but was around £60) and yes, is working using SAAC (despite people saying otherwise)

For people that are thinking of buying a steering wheel, for the first two weeks I was struggle a little bit, but now is much easier for me using the steering wheel rather than the keyboard, feels a lot better. (Flying is still weird)

Thanks for the feedback.
