ELM Should Be Allowed

I was reading the ELM v9.0 Readme file and I noticed that it said this: (see attached image)

Physical damage to cars including tires are no longer healed by this mod meaning there is no player advantage. Most SA:MP admins will allow this mod but you'll need to check with them first before activating in their server.

So ELM should be allowed becuase it causes no player advantages. Plus it is annoying having two GTA SA folders, one for CVT and one for Single Player and other SAMP servers. Please allow ELM!

But ELM is visible to rest of players (as strobe lights), that's the most important thing that's why it won't be allowed..

When this was posted ages ago, mick had a suspicion that it caused server lag from all the frequent light changes. having 100 people doing that at the same time, you wouldnt be online for very long.

It would be nice if only cops could do it, maybe even a trial run week. Like when we had the trial for the cops would fine in non police cars, simply was removed 2 days later from complaints.

If we allow ELM it will shows shitty at your car because we have already a light system in the server that you can set your light ON or OFF, and when you have your lights ON and start ELM your lights flash not how it should flash and when you have your lights OFF and start ELM your lights doesnt flash alot because the game try to hold them off.

But i have used also ELM a long time ago and used ELM cop cars that was very amazing, also on your truck you had some real functions like the emergency light signal when you stopped at the side of the road.

i had no problems when i see other players with it.

ELM is a mod that is visible to all other players, these are strobe lights.. some people have bad computers and if they see things like ELM / Strobe Lights their came may slow done ( FPS ) and it would cause more lag.. I think the way it is now is alright.

ELM is nice, I would love to have it, but like before this post, only on emergency cars, like cop car (and maybe firetruck and ambulance ).

It's a mod, and there is no way of limiting a mod from server side. What I mean: you can't make it only for VIPs nor only for some vehicles, because mods are client side (though the lights are shown to everyone) and therefore there is no way of disallowing someone for using it. So -1, it's good as it's now, disallowed.

Bad thing about ELM on CVT is everytime you backup they come on.

ELM wouldn't cause lagg for players with low end computers, it dosen't add anything that would cause lag. If you think about it, when you activate your blinkers it dosen't cause ppl to lag. It's the same concept with elm.

If it was accepted, you could make set rules for it, You're only allowed to use them as a cop. If you're a civ. you can use the blinkers and that's it, but that's kinda pointless since the server has scirpted blinkers.

then this wouldnt work. I like Sandman's idea, have a trial week to test it out, then go from there.

Mick simply doesnt wants ELM on his server because, its visible to other players and if im correct he said: ''its ugly''
I am sure mick is aware of the current version of ELM and its main features, but mick makes the rules and he said no to it.


But i couldnt find it in the do not suggest list, so i also cant lock it. Its micks server, but mick could change opinions about things, perhaps if you guys came up with valid arguements and ideas maybe something could happen.


Personally i think rules will stay as they are, because it has always been like this, but im only guessing. On the other hand i heard there is ELM to thats only client side and isnt visible to other players, if thats true, maybe that is a solution.

And I have heard somewhere that players who don't have this mod, while others have it in a same server, then players who don't have it could get crash in samp.
