Hey PeeJay,

The code I used for SAFA paychecks has long since disappeared. I've looked through my PC, can't find any files.

However the topic you've linked is correct, you'll need to collect player data every N days, compare it against the last set of data, and work out how much to pay them based on your rules e.g. $1k per 1 fuel stat.

To automate this, there's a Players API @ http://convoytrucking.net/api/players/{player id}, e.g. my stats are at http://convoytrucking.net/api/players/10039/

As for sending the actual money to players, from my experience I did it manually, but someone in the linked topic mentioned creating a AutoHotKey script to automate typing "/give [player name] [amount] [comment]" in the chatbox.

I know I'm breaking the rule on bumping dead posts.

I personally would like to see Convoy Trucking on a modern platform. I saw "Transport Tycoon" in the FiveM server browser and went "ah someone's already done it" but maybe not.

The reason why I'm mentioning this is because I've been thinking of the idea of creating Convoy Trucking V as a side project and have been building up a few pieces to make my life easier when working with FiveM (nothing Convoy Trucking related yet!). It's also a chance for me to make Convoy Trucking my way.

This is not to say I'm actively working on it (my time is limited) and it's not to say you should expect this server to even be a thing - but it would good to know if anyone a) would be interested to play on this server if it was built, and b) has a decent understanding of C#/PostgreSQL & if they would be willing to help develop it.

I just re-uploaded one of the missing links. Available at @ https://xdjoshuaaz.github.io/gta-color-html/index.html or usable below.

Hi all,

An incident occurred a few days ago (Sunday 25 November 2018, ~5am UTC/GMT) causing the server's database to become unreadable, therefore both gameserver and website went offline.

To get the server running again, the database was rebuilt using the database's recovery mode. This means there is a possible chance that some data may have been lost as the recovery mode ignores any invalid database records when reading the database, allowing a recovery of the remaining valid data to be made.

If you have noticed any missing statistics, vehicles, money, transfers, messages etc, please post in Problems & Complaints.

Thanks,
Joshy

I'm not sure what is being suggested here, although something needs to be done about cheat detection since if the host moves to a better protected server then cheats will be the #1 problem. My ideas include improving Smokey, including a third-party anti-cheat script, or allowing respected players to votekick/ban new players (see below).

Assuming new players are "trojans" is not the right answer though.

As for votekick/ban, my opinion has changed on this since I was a scripter especially with staff activity being not great. Abuse can be dealt with by auditing vote logs and kick/bans regularly, with abusers being banned from server or from voting. It must only be used for cheaters.

you can't ask for answers to your police test. Figure it out yourself.
He is asking if you must ask player to pull over first before ramming.

I've never seen a problem because of this personally, either way the suspect gets arrested and the cop actually loses out if they don't ask them to pull over as the suspect's wanted level will not go up, which means you get less money for it.

It seems to work fine for me on Windows 10 build 1703 "Creators Update"? Although ALT+TABing has never been good on Windows 10 and maybe Windows 8.1 for that matter.

OpenIV did reverse engineering (it's forbidden) people shouldn't be asking for the OpenIV "unban", they should be asking to Rockstar to upgrade their anti cheat system on GTA Online, hackers ruined this game, every session has one, and everyone loves then when they drop some money to you, so next time someone drops money to you, report him, they ruined this game, and it's their fault to what's going on now...
From a reddit comment I made a few days ago:
QuoteYou can however blame this [DDoSing] on Rockstar skimping on resources for online networking, and not using dedicated servers for online (dedi servers are a lot more expensive compared to a few matchmaking servers,) which is hilarious since GTA V is one of the highest profiting games of all time yet other games like Battlefield and CS:GO have dedicated servers.

Dedicated servers would also really help in solving cheating and online mods, since currently the "truthful" game state is dictated by the lobby host (the modder,) which in networked software development totally contradicts the rule "never trust the client." If the truthful game state was set by a dedicated server run by R*, then it would be much easier to implement anti-cheat validation measures.
If Rockstar had just used dedicated servers in the first place, online modding wouldn't be a such a big problem to deal with and their economy would be much harder to get modded money into = possibly selling more shark cards (if players weren't pushed away from the grind that is GTA Online).

R* are still arseholes sadly, I don't see GTA V MP mods lasting long when they become popular.

  • Respect other users. Disrespectful behavior will not be accepted.
  • Use common sense.
  • Do not post links to adult material, screamers, or to images / sites that could be considered "not safe for work" material.

I'm not exactly sure why you would want to post this other than having a disrespectful laugh, I find it only offensive personally and I am surprised at the fact it's been in the shoutbox for 15 hours.

Please remove the link out of this report after you're done (even if nothing happens) - I don't want Google indexing the forum and finding shit like that on here.

and what I was saying is, no matter which client is chosen, get a head start on it now so you already have the basics down...
If you what you mean by "basics" is design (i.e. a features list or a suggestions board) then okay, but otherwise that implies starting to code on top of a platform which may or may not be relevant in the future which is a risky thing to do. Also known as, living on the bleeding edge.

I went ahead and looked at the details of hosting and coding for the server, it's mostly C# which I'm familiar with (2nd/3rd programming language I learnt). Let's see if we can take CT there.
I was interested in the idea of having a GTA V server for CT back when FiveM wasn't shut down by R*, now they're back which is great!

What's more popular by the way, GTA V Network or FiveM?
