Well Pimm, I knew exactly what they were.  Could have to do with ETS2 in the description and it being in the Off Topic section.  I play ETS2.  Like it a lot.  As for these mods, I like them.  They look really good.  Thanks for posting.

But without the risk, where is the challenge?  You might as well give yourself a billion dollars and call yourself stud of the galaxy.  You didn't earn it.  It means nothing.  It's worthless.   :-\

General Talk / Re: Cops stalking thieves

It is like I said.  If you are a thief, stop being stupid.  If there are a bunch of cops in the area, go some place else.

Your time would be much more productive if you robbed where the cops are NOT versus whining that the area you have been stealing in for the last 20 minutes is now swarming with cops and they won't leave you alone.  Let the cops do what they are suppose to do.  Reduce crime where they are.  YOU don't have to be where COPS are.

Cops don't whine when thieves reclass.   Move around.  There are a couple of thieves that go someplace else each time I get near them.  I hardly ever catch them.  Take a lesson from them.   ;)

General Talk / Re: Cops stalking thieves

This has come up before.  If the cops stays there for an EXTENDED amount of time and does not fine or control, then it he is idle because he isn't doing his job.  If they do fine and do control in that area, it is not.  HOWEVER if a cop sees suspicious activity and hangs around that area, then the cop is doing what cops are suppose to do.  Stop Crime!  I know criminals are stupid or they wouldn't be criminals, BUT, use your friking head.  If a cop is in the area, you know, blue icon on mini map, don't just drive to the house your going to rob, park there and whine that the cop won't let you steal.  DUH!  When you see them, go someplace else until they leave the area.  I am totally amazed at how stupid people get about playing the thief roll.  There are just a few, and I mean a very few, that actually think about what they are doing and plan their actions as a thief.  Those of you that play the thief roll just want cops to give you a free ride.  Why not just ask the cop to escort you while you steal stuff.  The thief roll isn't suppose to be so easy that you just drive up to the house, steal stuff and drive off on your merry way.  Your a thief.  Your suppose to avoid cops.

All to often I see a people stealing in one area.  Cops show up and instead of the thieves going to where the cops are not, they just complain that the cops won't leave them alone.  It cracks me up.  I guess that is why our jail system is so crowded.  LOL

Cops drive cop cars and get the job done.  Boost cop car speed a bit and call it good.  If not, you will end up with the same mess as before.

General Talk / Re: Whats everyones people hates?

Not hates, more like dislike.

  • People who think a persons score has anything what so ever to do with their playing ability.
  • People that think that if you don't play the game the way they do, you playing it wrong.
  • People that call other players "noob" when they themselves are totally clueless most of the time.
  • People who forget that this is just a game and played for fun.
  • People who live in cardboard boxes under railroad bridges and never share their cheap wine with others.   ;D

The thing is, 1 cop - 1 thief . . . . . .  56 Truckers with fines, 27 truckers needing weight control.
QuoteCop's duty is to collect fines from players and arrest suspects.
I might add weight control to micks quote also.

However I think it is a good idea.  That way all these "Wanna Be Score whore Cops" can get their achievement and quit being a cop.  They don't do crap anyway except run around chasing wanted suspects in sports cars anyhow.  That achievment has, for the most part, lost it's value.  To easy to get now days.

As a cop, I give a BIG +1 to the first one.   It really p!sses me off to see a cop do that.  Totally uncalled for.  But as for the second, there is more than enough time to /pay and get on the boat.   You got the fines, pay them.  If it is close, don't get on the ferry.  Just sit and call the cop a noob like you will anyway.  But as stated, it will lead to abuse by the same cops that fine on the ferry now.

-1 to the second.

Not only that, but you already show up as a big blue icon.  You can hardly get people to use normal cop cars to do their jobs anymore let alone a slicktop.

QuoteAlso in real life police dont just throw you to jail from 20kph speed.

No they don't, they lay down stop-sticks.  Or PIT the vehicle.  Neither of which works on CVT.  In CVT a motorcycle can T-Bone a police cruiser and throw the cruiser across the map and keep driving.  In RL ops can also stop crooks from hijacking armored cars.  They don't have to follow until the armored car is stolen to take action.  Impliment the new arrest system.  But make the crooks have to sit at the unload for 10 seconds like securicars do.
You change the arrest system like you suggest, the cops will just have to ram them until they are disabled like the securicars and the crooks will still cry and whine about the cops.  Then your just going to make it a demolition derby.

Great Idea.  And to make it "FAIR" the thieves would have to sit and wait like Securicars to unload when stealing cars, robbing houses and stealing Securicars.

GREAT idea.

What?  Now it doesn't sound so great?

I was just wondering if it would be possible to set up the Submission Button for thieves and Securicars.  When a thief gets close to a securicar, he has to hit his submission button indicating his intent to jack the Securicar.  At that point, other thieves can't get involved as the securicar is already being jacked.  Just like for fines, once one cop fines the player, another cop can't fine them.  It would be just between the two of them.  In addition, the thief at that point could be listed as wanted, or wanted after 30 seconds or so.  That would eliminate the gang rush on Securicars and give some limited protection to them as well.

Just a thought.

Now do you see where the problem lies?  Securicar drivers get swarmed by one to three or more thieves and you wonder why they start to shoot first and ask questions later?  The cops can't protect them.  Other players can't protect them.  They are left to fend for themselves so they react before the bad guy can.

Is it right?  No.  But you can't blame people for reacting the way they do.  You get jacked 10 times out of 12 and see if you don't start to get defensive when a Sandking comes screaming up behind you.

That about sums it up.  There is a ton of
QuoteAbsolutely no need for this at all.
stuff.  But you don't rip on people about having it available do you?  No.

And for those of you that think that, don't look at it.  I think it would be interesting though.  I often wondered about it.  Kind of like a bank statement.  Lets you know where your money is going.

Not always.  I /reclass if I slide into the water or something.  Should I have to wait 5 minutes to arrest after that?  To make it fair then, the crooks should have to wait 5 minutes when they /reclass as well.  Does that sound as good now?  And truckers have to wait 5 minutes to take a load out if they /reclass as well.

1 minute reclass timer.
