tl;dr - work, i'm tired

i live with my family, we barely get by. i had to maximise my time spent getting paid to make sure they can live comfortably. so far it's looking like it'll work out. i'm drained when i get home, i barely have enough time to eat, shit, shave and shower. definitely don't get enough sleep anymore. so i'm exhausted, and i can't be bothered squeezing in time anymore. that's mainly why i jumped ship

other than that, ct has been on a downhill for a while now. the forum breaking has made it even less welcoming for new players as well as old players who want to come back. i'm not sure what happened shortly after i left, because i've been completely inactive since then. whenever i open samp i see the same one or two names online as always, haven't seen more than two online again.

As the wounded are loaded up and the dropship ascends, I steal a moment to catch my breath. The adrenaline fades, giving way to reflection. I inspect the machine gun, my hands tracing the scars etched upon its surface. Curiosity overcomes me as I discover the faded words scratched into the gun's worn metal: "Tunisia, Italy, Germany." A surge of history courses through me, connecting me to those who wielded this weapon before.

In that fleeting instant, I sense a deep bond forming between myself and this relic of the past. It has traveled across time and space, from distant battlegrounds to the hostile landscapes of Mars. And just as those who came before, I, too, have left my mark on this weathered companion. With a knife, I carve the word "Mars" next to the faded engravings of its previous battles.

that field of view is insane so i'm assuming it is modded, could be an issue with the mod. maybe the stock game wasn't meant to see that far back, could be textures unloading where the game thinks the camera isn't looking

I can't explain that because I never did it. Using CC often. I remember last flight before pushed 'Esc' button. I was in Bone or Tierra Robada county. Then I had to move my real truck to bay for unload and left game in menu window.

All of the sound files are recorded from online sources, edited and rendered with Audacity and exported as 16-bit .WAV files.

ps i literally made the rt sound mod in a few minutes, it's far from good and even farther from finished - i know it sucks, but it'll get better over time(if i can sort this problem out)

The Infernus sound mod works 100% fine (I have both sounds in Bank_031 and all three sounds in Bank_032 modified and all of them work properly). However, the sound I just made for my Road Train (both files in Bank_077 an all three files in Bank_078 modified) doesn't work properly. Despite being the same 16-bit wave files, recorded and rendered in the exact same way, sound_002 of Bank_077 (this is the engine idle sound, which plays when the car is not moving and also when the car is moving without the W key being pressed) seems broken.

As seen in the video, it's as if the pitch of the sound is too high or something and it fails to play above a certain speed, then starts to play as the speed gets very low. I've included the Infernus mod as an example of what should be happening, and to show that it's (likely) not the fact that it's modded that's breaking it.

What could be causing this? I thought it was because the sound was too short, so I made it the same length as the Infernus idle sound, but it made no difference. I then made it even longer, but still nothing changed.

These days, there are rarely any thieves online and not many people run away with fines. If someone wants to complete their 500 arrests, they have to rely on other thief players not rage quitting when they start arresting them, or secretly farming just to get a few missions done in a day(we forgive you)

My opinion on what should happen: Cops are still not allowed to idle. They must still chase thieves, collect fines, not sit as passenger, all the normal things. But they will be allowed to follow a thief on a mission, let him complete the mission or let him drive directly to the cop and immediately arrest.

DO NOT: Let cops farm arrests from players who intentionally get fines to get arrested, because this can be abused to make lots of money without working (this is already not allowed, so don't do it even if this suggestion is ignored). To clarify, you are allowed to rack up insane fines and have fun with cops, but don't abuse it and get so many fines that you max out your bank account and don't repeatedly do this purely for arrest. Players are allowed to do this if they have the intention of running away from the cops purely for the police chase, but if they rack up 500k fines on a noob account and then drive to their cop friend to immediately get arrested, they are breaking the general farming rule.

Additionally: remove the penalty from thieves who get arrested, so that it is the same as farming securicar robberies, where the player who gets robbed doesn't lose any money.
