I used to run SAMP on Linux. It wasn't always the best experience, meaning it included a lot of bugs, crashes, and even headaches. One normal thing you could do on windows typically broke the whole installation, like modding (depending how heavy the mods are) for example. The Deck does however run windows if you install it. Windows is completely free on the Deck (no license required) as the small screen fits under the "Windows To Go" licensing req's. You can put windows on either the internal storage, but I like SteamOS as it has better optimizations. You can install it on an SD card that has appropriate Read/Write speeds as outlined in this guide here. There are plenty of other guides for installing windows a google search away. Steam decks are also a pretty decent deal considering the power they packed into a small form factor. They play a lot of the new titles out of the box, and these titles can be made to run 100% smooth with a few tweaks, a lot of which other users share on ProtonDB.

Like when there are 0 thiefs online it's possible to do /w.
Then you need to arrests player x from his house in x location and maybe deliver him to the nearest police station?

I like this idea... Everything else has its own /w and this day in age it makes sense to migrate cop missions to that as well... One other thing in addition to this, however. Adjust the minimum police online for thief. One adjustment to where if there are no other thiefs active and no cops, you can become a thief without someone having to be a cop. However the police requirement stays if there's already a thief active and no police.

I've seen a few questions regarding it. So I figured I could make a topic for everyone. There is an app called SA-MP Launcher on the Google Play Store. It allows you to run SAMP on Android. It's not perfect and has some drawbacks such as not being able to use any of the mapped areas except Sandus and Alcatraz. However, if you would like to mess around, preferrably on a device that you do not use daily (just for precaution, although it doesn't seem to trigger Google's "Play Protect" nor does it have any out of the ordinary permissions), I made a short tutorial on how to set it up in another post and figured I could share it in another.

As a quick tutorial, based on what I did:

• Download from Google Play.
• Open app and hit the install client button from the main screen. Hit yes. It will download and when it's done and asks for installation of the apk, hit auto. You'll have to allow unknown sources.
• Once that's done, go back to the Launcher and select full for the cache selection.
• It'll take you back where you have to install client again. Hit that and select yes. It will download the game, about 2.3GB.
• After all that, cash money. You can add CT to the favorites list. (From the main screen servers are at the center of the bottom then select favorites. There are also some additional options like timestamp for the chat and fps you can toggle.)

All in all, it's neat, but not very usable if you want the full experience. It's something I threw on an old LG G5 just to use in downtime with a hotspot or wifi.

haven't seen any iOS things... mainly due to Apple's harsher restrictions on file editing and the like. Might be able to work it in a jailbreak but I have yet to see if there's any samp mods out there.

I don't think mobile version will get updated as long as it works on most devices... Who knows though. However, I agree that there are disadvantages to using the mobile version that simply just cannot be accommodated by a server and, imo, a game that was meant to be played on PC. I was just looking at artic missions since they are probably the most common, considering this being a trucking server. While doing these missions, there are occasions where the mission has to be canceled to hopefully find a mission that is within the mobile limitations [mainland and sandus and alcatraz, for some reason] I was just thinking of having one of the mission selections for artic be within a select region [ie mainland and sandus] I think it could make convoy and solo artic missions a little better for mobile users without detracting from their or anyone else's experience.

As far as other things go, it's not entirely feasible to look for solutions without providing an advantage over others unless you change the missions entirely just for mobile players. I'm sure not many people actually use mobile so it wouldn't even be really worth going into.

I've been messing about with SAMP on mobile for funsies (mainly because I have nothing better to do) and I've thought of one very minor thing that would be neato since the map streaming is borked.

Make at least one of the missions in the mission select dialog route only within the mainland. I've noticed the auto detect for androids so maybe it could just do that for those people, or it could just be a global thing as I'm sure no one would be entirely against it since there's however many other jobs to choose from.
