No, not /mute. Why should one be punished by responding to what someone has said to them? Sure it's immature, but most people do it. I think blocking chat between certain people is a little better, cause then they can't fight. When someone is muted, the argument normally continues in some way or another. If both people in the fight can't see what each other say, it's a little bit better to solve.

Plus many times when people are fighting or arguing, only one person gets muted. This is unfair because sometimes the other player will end up picking on the one that's muted. If you have a chat blocked from someone, it should end because they have nothing to fight about then.

I find it's just a better way to seperate than to /mute. I know many may disagree, but there are advantages and disadvantages to the command.

I feel it's best use would be when you just don't like someone, you can just block them.

Just as the topic suggests, this command will allow you to block what someone says so you can't see it.

Maybe this can work for the mods/admins too where a mod and block the chat from 2 certain players to they can't see what each other are saying. Then a mod would have to unblock them.

This would be best to prevent fights, and keep you from seeing noobs advertise if a mod isn't on. Hopefully it would stop the 20 fights a day that CVT tends to have lately...

Let me know what you think.

Look, I've been playing this game for quite a while now. After what i've seen, most truckers will only go after a cop for 2 reasons: 1) they've been provoked, 2) the trucker is irritated by the cops because of certain things they are doing such as cutting them off or ramming in some way or another. So whether a cop that did something to them or not is near them, they'll hit them simply because they don't want the cop near them. This mainly happens at a time when there's many people.

Sure there are many truckers that will go after a cop. But you can't tell me that most of these new cops, and even some experienced cops don't trigger these problems. Most of the times when a cop is hit by a trucker, they're only hit because or retaliation, or because of fustration because of what some other cops have done to him in that day.

Deejayy, 2 things:
1: you hitting the back of a truck is not a valid ram, thats far from the point i'm getting at. There's quite a few cops that will drive in to people head on for their fines.
2: as for passing a trucker, ever think that you aren't as far ahead of them as you think you are? This falls into the case of latency. Because of not considering server latency, it's technically the cops fault. When a cop passes a trucker, they shouldn't just cut them off in the first place. You should be considering the room your giving the trucker to over take them and if your on the LV to WC bridge, you should be watching for oncoming traffic too. I know I've had some real close calls with cops and accidents because they're "safely" passing me.

Bottom line: There needs to be some stricter rules on the cops. There's many cops that shouldn't have their badge because of breaking the rules, and many shouldn't have the ability to get it again because they still continue to break the rules because they simply don't care (another word for this is a noob... something this server has too many of).

And if I may add, I would enjoy seeing some action taken against the cops that respawn where the suspect is... but thats another concept.

I want to hear some more thoughts on this. I feel as though cops are something that need more rules... There's too many accidents and problems caused with them lately, such as respawning near suspects.

Yes, big +1  :)

Too many accidents on this bridge. I think this update is needed.

I like this idea a lot, +1 from me.

I also like what DarkMati mentioned. It would be a great idea to have an in-game translation system, but it definitely would be difficult to make and would probably cause some sort of lag. Maybe a way to resolute this situation would be to make a translation system, but have it as a mod that can be downloaded from the site? Not sure what type of mod it would be.. maybe a CLEO, but it would be a good idea if easy enough and possible.

+1 from me, good suggestion Joshy.

Gotta love everyone saying "respect cop rules!" 75% of the cops in this shouldn't have they're badge in the first place, and normally when a cop claims for ramming, it's because of side effect of something the cop caused. Sure there's some people that hate all cops, but many cops rammed are rammed because of a side effect to what they did to a player.

I'm liking the thoughts on this, even for those that don't support but have an idea of how to change it  :)

But I do want to clearify this: it's not meant to penalize new cops, it's meant to penalize cops that don't want to abide by the police rules and most likely cheated on the police test. These types of cops are the ones who cause problems, and many of them never stop.

I respect cops, I'm not saying they're bad. Nor is my point to say that i believe they're too powerful, it's more of I'm saying that with their job of pulling over and fining truckers is what i'm getting at. I'm not saying take their jobs away.

What I'm saying is, there are some cops that will block/ram for fines too often, and when their badge is revoked, they easily get it back by taking the test over again. And many of those rule breaking cops don't know the rules and cheat on the test, so a simple badge revoke isn't even really that bad of a consequence for them. That's why with these new rules, it should get many of them to stop.

+1, completely agree. It's bad enough that the houses are sold at half, let alone should they sell at a 1/4 of the price if the house prices are upscaled.

I find there's a bit of too much leniency towards people that get their badge revoked. Earning your police badge is more of a privilege rather than a right as it gives you quite a bit of power over truckers and other players.

Many cops, especially new one's, don't know the police rules as they cheat on the test, considering the test is the same for everyone that takes it. Because of this, they break the rules as they don't truly know them. When they break the rules, they lose their badge, but just as easily as they got it in the first place they get it by cheating again. Normally when they get the badge again, they persist to break the rules they once broke without a care.

Because of the police constantly breaking the rules and it's not caught by moderators or camera because it happens fast (particularly with ramming or blocking for fines), and because of the fact that I find the badge is more of a privilege than a right, I would like to promote a rule that would control the amount of police and decrease the amount of problems/rule breaking caused by some cops:

1) First offense of a rule broken by cops: warned that their badge can be revoked if another rule is broken.
2) Second offense: Badge revoked and a $50,000 fine is issued. The player does have the ability to retake the test and re-buy his badge.
3) Third offense: Badge revoked and another $50,000 fine is issued. The player cannot retake the test or re-buy the badge until a month has past.
4) Fourth offense: Badge is permanently revoked and a $100,000 fine is issued. The player has lost his/her privilege to be a police officer.

Police that break the rules not only irritate other players, but they can also cause accidents, mission fails, and unenjoyable gameplay to other players. Incidents like these with the police seem to be a growing problem in this game. To keep the game play even and enjoyable to all players, I would like to propose these rules. In the last rule, I'm unsure if a permanent revoke would be too drastic and unfair, which is why instead of a permanent revoke I would like to suggest that they could lose the badge until they have 12/13 achievements complete in the game. I hope these ideas are fair to everyone, police and players alike. Please leave your thoughts/comments about this, I would like to know if this happens to many or if it's just one or two cops causing these incidents that other players should be on the look out for.
