so i fitted my laptop with a new ssd and after installing GTA and SAMP at the 1st launch of the game it asked me to install direct play like it aways dose but after it rebooted i get the same thing over and over.

Just wondered if someone had a similar issue and how they have resolved it

Maybe you can use SilentPatch (http://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-silentpatch) for San Andreas, which claims to remove dependency on DirectPlay, as well as adding some minor graphical tweaks.

I get some problems with the patch, namely I can't restore a minimized game, but it is used by many other people.

Thats how i got DirectPlay working.
