Title: Wifi help
Post by: CarlJohnson on May 14, 2017, 13:37
Hi, basically a certain network on my laptop is extremely slow. It hardly reaches 20 kbps whilst my old laptop manages to go over 200 kbps on the same network. Other network ( mobile Hotspot) gets same speed on both the laptops.

Tried both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz bands, wasn't a significant improvement. I have Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter as network card.

Could windows updating be causing it? Right now windows isn't updating I'm getting better speed.

Thanks for the help guys, I figured out what was causing the issue along with the reason for high disk usage. Windows was downloading updates in the background which was lowering my browsing speed as well as keeping the disk usage about 80%+ most of the times. Now both of them are working fine (disk usage is below 10%) as I've set my connection to metered, I'll update windows when I'm not playing / live streaming / downloading.
