Title: Can you help me?
Post by: Benny on January 15, 2015, 18:59
Hey guys, so i bought a new pc case, moved everything into the new one but now the gpu doesn't "work" well it works in a way that the fan turns on full speed and when i plug the DVI cable nothing happens on the screen... i have been looking for fixes but nothing helped so far..

What GPU? Are all the cables plugged in including the one(s) from the PSU? Is it all the way in the PCI-e slot? Take it out and put it back in.

Cleared the CMOS yet?
Nope

Basicly what i figured out is that the motherboard doesn't recognize the gpu, i tried few of them non worked..

Is it booting without the graphics card? Do you have integrated gpu to test this?

Try it. Had an issue with my 550ti not giving out signal.

Follow this (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm) or  this (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm). Thats all i did when i had the issue, that fixed it.

when i notched my card loose, and I had no video but fans were still going, all I had to do was set it in there firmly enough to get it to work right... is the card in the motherboard firmly?

Can you see it at all in the bios? Is the output set to integrated graphics instead of your GPU?

perhaps more information about what you're using in terms of motherboard, power supply and how you're connecting it to your monitor (ie if you're using adapters)

if you do see your bios screen when you boot up then perhaps you can try to install the drivers without the card inside.

Its a long shot, but take it to a friends house or where you bought it from, (if it wasnt online), and get them to test it. Booting a pc and having the gpu fans go to 100% means its rightfully shit itself..

I pulled out the cmos batter 2 times but nothing changed... wierdly the fans on the graphic card still spin even without the 6 pin power conector so the pci slot can't be broken..
Its wierd.. i just chnaged the computer case.. idk what i did wrong

What we found out is that probably the pci slot is broken cause it doesn't recognize any gpu we put in... idk what could go wrong while moving it to the new case.

Mobo's are vulnerable. They can get broken just with a slight wrong move. What Mobo you use? And how much Watt u get from power supply?

I have a gigabyte ga-g41m-combo and a 450 Watt PS. It worked fine in the old case, idk if the power suply could be the problem here.
