Title: PC upgrade
Post by: Hobo on July 21, 2014, 20:12
I originally built my PC on a small budget so I figured I needed an upgrade. With the SSD and Windows 8.1, it boots in under 10 seconds. I got Windows for free with my student account (y). I reused the RAM, HDD, and GPU from my old build. I plan on upgrading the GPU when Nvidia releases the 800 series. I was even able to keep my 500+GB Steam library on my HDD without having to reinstall anything.  :like: :like:

Here are the upgraded specs:

Nice! You have a pretty similar build to me and I can bet it runs fast (but I'm too poor to get a graphics card right now)

Have you got all of your user folders (documents/music/pictures etc) on the HDD or do you have enough space on the SSD?

Most are just game saves/config so they are staying on the HDD since that's where Steam will look for them. I use Spotify for all my music needs. I've only used 27.3GB of space on the SSD so far. I have my OS and most used programs on there but that's really all I want to put on there for now. HDD has plenty of space left for games :like:
