Hey truckers! This topic is something that has been in the back of my mind for a while but I never really got around to writing about it.
Before I begin, if you don't know, Garver Bridge is the bridge connecting southern Tierra Robada and Downtown San Fierro.
Now i've been on the server for awhile and this has been a problem as long as I can remember. Every time a player drives over the bridge in a vehicle which has a top speed greater than about 95kph, their speed is reduced to around 95kph. Therefore, it's not really an issue if you're driving a Petrol or a Trashmaster, but for a Road Train it certainly is an inconvenience.
I could understand the reason this is happening if the bridge had some type of major incline, but the fact is the surface is almost completely flat. There is no reason the vehicle driving over the bridge should be slowed down. The Wet County Expressway bridge (near Happyland) is the exact same bridge copy and pasted but when you drive over that one your speed is not affected. In addition, it should be mentioned that the same problem occurs on the strip in Las Venturas, a road that is even flatter than the Garver Bridge.
I believe while this is not an urgent matter, it should be looked into. In my opinion there is absolutely no reason this should be happening. I'd like to see it fixed.
That about sums up my rant, what do others think about this?
Blame Rockstar. They have a speed limit there and on the LV strip.

yeah.
You can use nitro or /cc and you good.
Like Hobo said, it's put there by Rockstar for some random reason.
In my opinion, they(mappers) greatly improved the LV - Red County intersection, they could greatly improve The Strip and/or Garver Bridge - Strip being the harder one to do since multiple parts, but the bridge is only 3 or 4 parts IIRC. Would be a nice touch, amirite?

I dont think its that hard to do it, ill try that later today

Yes, /cc solves some problems but still if you are in a vehicle with no nitro (like a road train) heading out of San Fierro there is a toll booth that breaks your speed. Beyond the toll booth there is not enough space to get up to speed so you can do /cc again. So you're stuck at the bridge's limiting speed.

I don't think the strip is as big of an issue since it is not a vital highway connecting two major places. Garver Bridge certainly is though and if you think it is possible to improve the bridge easily, the next step would be to talk to some mappers and possibly begin work on this.
Its not object related. Its likely area related. Otherwise WC highway would have the same issue.
or you could avoid it completely and not have any issues
I don't get why you even want to fix it? The bridge is kinda elevated and when the vehicles slow down it feels realistic.
Also I don't understand why people want to rush so much? Max speed at that bridge is around 85kph I guess and top speed of RT is 125kph, not that much low is it?
Its not like you slow down at every road/bridge, there are like only 4-5 points or less where you face this, so you should ignore few things like that :)
maybe he wants to edit it because his driving is pure sh!t?

That has nothing to do with the bridge making you slow. He probably is just impatient.

As he said beforq if you come from SF to TR you slow to 0 kmph at tolls, what cc?

But then if the max wasn't limited to 85kph there, you won't even achieve to go over 100kph there.
Try it yourself if you start at the tolls and hold gas the whole time you will get at 85kph at almost the end of the bridge, and at that place you almost need to brake again.

Hey man, no need to be so negative. I was just saying we should discuss this issue, I never talked about it before so I thought the forum would be a good place to get information on it. I never said we need to change it.

Not an issue. More or less just one of those Rockstar things. (https://twitter.com/justrockstarthi)

read it m8, its not object related nor area related so you have to be the only who has an issue...
and the WC bridge is not made by the garver bridge pieces, (if I am right and youre talking about the golden gate bridge from SF to bayside)

He's talking about the brige from SF to TR, not the red one. This brige object using to connect from happyland to fir island, so again its 'rockstar' issue and as i said many time ill check it by replacing the objects (just to test it.. Not saying its needed to add to the server)
About the strip road at lv.. Less meaning not much using it.
