try going into the chrome menu-settings-show advanced settings then go to the network area and change proxy settings see if it has proxy on if it does turn it off then try again.
I think I rememeber mine not working at one point, virus scan and removal with malwarebytes and it fixed it

Thank you blood & Spazz! :)
Or it could just update. Mine takes up to 4 mins to start the first time.

You for sure have a virus if your google chrome takes 4 minutes to start up lol, I installed it on my desktop with a 1.5mb/s wifi adapter and it started within 10 seconds first startup after installing
Idea #1.
Shut down Chrome.
Check your hidden systray icons to see if there's another running. There often is. Right click and shut it down, too.
Next, go into this folder:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage
Delete everything in there. If you feel nervous about deleting the contents, move them to a different folder instead.
Start Chrome up.
#2
type -no-sandbox in the google chrome shortuct path (target) so it looks like this:
C:\Users\Horowitz\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Appl ication\chrome.exe -no-sandbox
(with a space after exe)
it worked for me and other people on the net. hope it helps you...

Try opening Chrome and typing in "about:flags" and disable the GPU accelerated compositing. We had a similar issue this morning and were able to resolve it as mentioned above.

Disabling the GPU accelerated compositing and restarting the browser worked like a charm. Thanks, everybody!
Xfire me if you want a hand with any of it.
