Title: Need a 7.3L Ford Powerstroke sound mod
Post by: zirmitra on September 01, 2013, 22:05
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but i'm looking for a sound mod that resembles a 7.3L Stroker, similar to this

Make one. That sound mod is complete shit if you ask me. You can hear a 'ticking' at idle which indicates the sound clips used are too long. I have made several sound mods from scratch before but it's a lot of work. I said I would never do another sound mod again...but, we will see.

Yeah, if i had the equipment i would try to record the sound of my own truck. Plus i've never played with sound mods before.

Look up Audacity 1.3 for making sound mods. You just import the sounds you want then edit them and export. Sound clips for gta need to match the original file size almost exactly. I have sometimes just used the audio from YT videos before as a base sound to begin with.

Thanks Ethan, anybody know how to install sound mods? Every tutorial for the 'SAAT' is a load of crap, wondering if there are any other ways?

Zirm, When I installed sound mods I used this http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=296844

And searched a random tutorial on youtube about the programs they suggested.. Its been a while now, but It can be that I did it with CMD

Thanks Twido, but they suggest I use Alci's SAAT editor, my computer doesn't get along with it unfortunately.

That's pretty much the only way you will be able to install sound mods lol, and they're kinda buggy themselves, when you add a sound mod it fucks up the next set of sounds

Not if you do it right. Sound mods must match the size and length of the original files they are replacing. If they dont, problems arise.

I've experienced this with quite a few sound mods, lol

the sounds I have replaced previously match the sound time exactly but yet when I did the police siren, the heli blades are still fed up
