Alright, I need a new desktop PC. My current laptop specs are:
2.20Ghz dual core Intel Pentium B960 (http://ark.intel.com/products/59836) with Intel HD 3000 graphics
8 GB DDR3 RAM (upgraded from 4GB)
320GB HDD
Windows 7 64 bit
It's good for a school laptop and can play a few games but there are so many that it can't run.
I want to build a PC for a relatively cheap price, hopefully under $400. I'd love for it to be able to run most games at decent FPS. Games like GTA IV (I can almost run this now), Arma II, Borderlands, Fallout 3, Saints Row 3, Just Cause 2. Things like that.
I've been looking at AMD for a processor since it's cheap and seems decent.
I'd like a graphics card with at least 1GB of vRam.
RAM is cheap so I'd get 8 or more GB of that.
A 500GB HDD would be plenty for me. I have a few external drives too.
A PSU since mine is old and only 300W
Then I just need a motherboard to put everything together.
I have a case and a DVD drive. I'll also need to buy Windows 7 because I hate Windows 8 :-\
What do you guys suggest for parts? I'd prefer to use http://www.newegg.com/ to buy everything.
buy mine!
maybe shouldnt post the link, but hell its hobo.

And someone that has "a life" will surelly give you 1600E for an used PC.
You'll be lucky if a kid that has been born on moneys will buy it, but a normal guy won't buy it.
With 1600E you can have a decent vacance in Dubai lol .

Dont get Vinny's suggestion. All AMD bulldozer processors are bullshit. They lack so many IPCs that you'll feel like you're running a Sempron single core. Get a Vishera.
Or if you really wanna save money while being able to play games, get a Trinity or Richland APU processor. The IGP isnt bad at all. I will still make you a suggestion list with a dedicated graphics card.

The CPU is incompatible with that motherboard (The motherboard is Socket am3+ and the cpu is socket FM2)
If your after a 1TB drive there is a WD Blue
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236339 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236339) and it's $20 cheaper then the black and does the same job if on a budget,
And I would still recommend going for a dedicated video card that I recommended which with the setup I recommended only put your budget out by $48 ($58 if you go with the 1TB WD Blue)
if you want a good cheap dedicated video card. Go with Radeon HD 7770 or 7780. here those are like 140-190€ depending on who overclocked them and put better coolers on them
Also if you going with the Antec 300, theres going to be 2 tricool fans. They got Low, Medium and High speed settings on long wire. I suggest to make a hole near rear corner of the sidepanel to get those controllers out so you can switch them to higher speeds when doing heavier gaming or heat is getting high.
The case is tight fit with full ATX but its still good sturdy case without all the tool-less features and other fancy plastics. Full aluminium and steel. Strong bastard. Only plastic in it is the front panel frame.

Both. I got 3 cracked W7U left in the household out of like 25 those are VMs most of them though running under a linux based host.

What's the best Win7 for gaming ? Home Prenium or Professional ?
I go with the ultimate to have all features with least hardware limitations set by a microsoft.. Ultimate supporting to like 192GB of ram. and multiple processors. knowing i probably never would be running dual CPUS or over 192GB of ram but still. I like to have them all.
New PC is up and running. Thank you all :D
