Lately I've been working on 1000 thief (got 500 securicar heist) and I realized, the whole time I'm thief while wanted, I'm warping back a few feet. I'll be driving a Oceanic and get jump off of the cliff and about to land at the bottom into bayside when suddenly, I'm back at the top of the cliff....and stuck in the ground. needless to say, I get jailed.
So what's with this?
Server lag, it happened to me once when i drove past a cop inside Fallen Tree depot, i was halfway up the hill and boom, i was in jail.
but it only happens when you're wanted? Is this something mick scripted? (Since he is too much of a stone to reply)
because I can pretty much do petrol tanker missions with this lag and not warp at all. Steal a car and it's Amityville.
There are also very laggy areas like the place where you recorded your report (http://www.forum.convoytrucking.net/index.php/topic,39782.0.html). Also the tunnel near Wang cars.
Pretty sure FPS lag doesnt cause teleporting (maybe to other players but you only notice the frame lag)
This happened with me too, while I was wanted only when "wanted" it teleports me few meters back. I don't know what's that.
You get teleported back if the server detects a lag connection.
Mick scripted it like that so people cant use ESC to evade get arrested or abuse of their lag to evade cops. It's part of the anticheat and its meant to be like that if your connection is lagging. I been told about it when i was working for my thief achievement long time ago before being part of staff team.
This has only happened to me once when I was stealing a car. I was teleported back a bit and it actually helped me steal the car since the cop was right on top of me...
Well I must have a damn good connection xD hardly had this problem once when stealing my 500 cars or ever when running from cops regardless of area. (I get somewhat bad fps lag at that same toll but no jumping back) It's happened very few times when I'm desynced, I would be driving and boom, shoot back 20 feet and instant stop, it's annoying because it stops you completely, thus getting you jailed
