Title: New car colors system
Post by: Rubber on February 06, 2013, 22:05
I have realized since the release of 0.3x, custom car color files do not work in the server (they still work in SP). I'm just curious if the new SAMP offered the option to have server-sided carcols (so everyone's colors appear the same). It seems this is the case, but I'm not sure. If so, is it possible to make it client-sided again, so we can use our custom car colors?

While on the topic of car colors, would it be possible to bring back the old color spraying system? The one I'm referring to is where you use /spray [primary] [secondary] [tertiary]. This was removed and replaced with the pop-up menu a while back. Most of us know what color id's are what. Going through the menu every time to change a color is a bit painstaking.

Not only this, but any of the modelers out there know that in ZModeler, you can actually add tertiary and quatranary (3rd and 4th) colors to car mods. The old /spray system allowed tertiary colors. It would be really cool to be able to add mods that have 3+ sprayable colors to them. Perhaps a different command could be used for this spraying system (and leave the menu system in place as well).

Moreover, the old /spray system allowed you to used up to color id 255. The menu system cuts off at 126. With the new release of 0.3x, all the colors between 126 and 255 were revamped. Having these open to players would be nice.

Thanks for reading.

This is just a guess at this point. I remember reading a long time ago that SAMP would at one time have the ability to use server-sided car colors (as well as other things). Not sure if this is the case.

the reason why colors 126-255 got disabled was that players didnt knew how to paint correctly i believe xD
besides that,  i like this color pop up thinghy, its usefull, and no not everyone knows all color ID's.
I only know 1 and thats 126 :)

My suggestion is to leave the pop-up menu in place, but allow those 'experienced' players use /spray [primary id] [secondary id] [tertiary id]. It would save a lot of time. Pop-up menus are laggy and take forever to scroll through the numbers....

if no parametres set, it pops the menu up. if set, then its the old system. I like this
(hope samp dosent soon get rid of modded gta3.img's too or someting essential for me.)
