To start: The inactive players and the owners of the biggest houses like 10-20 slots will be opposed to this.
So hello:
Nowadays alot of players are logging-in once a long time, just to keep their house (check this topic if you didn't: http://www.forum.convoytrucking.net/index.php/topic,16107.0.html)
My suggestion is the following,
When you buy a house (lets say $7,000,000 for a 3 slot), you will have to pay a rent every month (or more ... idk yet (real life time not in game)). Maybe just 1% of the original house price, but the main thing is you will have to do it manually by logging in at the time.
If you miss the payment you will be marked as inactive but you will have a chance to correct it. If you miss 2 payments in a row, your house will be sold, but you will still have to pay the 2 rents you missed.
+1, many big houses are beeing wasted by inactive players
It is true that we have inactive members, but i dont think its appropiate for those, who spend months/years working and getting a big house, and that they then suddenly need to pay for something they paid for with the purchase price already.
I understand your point, and this was suggested before, i believe mick liked this and even made a general talk topci about it with a vote, but overall players said no, due to 1 main reason: 'i worked for it, i purchased it, and now i have to rent my own house? ''
No' rent is stupid.
Lets say add:
60 days of inactivity = auto evict. this is how it works now.
So we should ADD same thing to missions!
60 days of not doing any mission = auto evict, same as not loging it for 60 days.

Simply what i meant is that they have to do something more than a mission, maybe not a pay but simply something other, lets say he has to go to his house once a month and clic on "extend" or something ...
