Title: My Peterbilt 387 Project[Released]
Post by: Marty on September 25, 2012, 08:23
hello everyone i have not been online for awhile because i found this really nice model, so i decided to try and convert it to gta:sa and so far this is what it looks like
(http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/75/ext2w.jpg)

interior still needs to be colored in and need to add alot of stuff to the dash but ill worrie about that after the beta

hopefully when i separate the truck into pieces, resize and add dummies it wont mess up like my first gtasa convert

so i only hope to convert this for people who want it.

i should probally get promission to do my converts... oh well. narrow up your wheels in zmodeler, because theyre twice as wide in game.

Post by: Marty on September 26, 2012, 02:14
yeh i know what thats all about, had that prob with my trailer its a shame no-one else manages to make them smaller, mainly all the trucks on gtainside have huge ugly wheels with bad chrome jobs, thats actually what pushed my decision to convert this truck.

I found that if you don't touch the collision stuff then the model wont lag, ive tested afew times in cvt and never had any probs yet.

LMAO love ur materials they look familiar im using them too, those are nice wheels dude yeh i use them but the sides of the tires are reversed so they need a lil editing should look great on this truck im sure.

Progress: interior needs alot of work had to remove engine for less poly count and the new flares work now :D ill post a pic of my progress after im done abit of texturing.

i was also thinking of releasing a beta ver of this truck if u guys want.

Just a couple things I see:

Windows need reflective textures added. Also, glass looks a bit odd.
Chrome doesn't look quite right....looks too grey.

Other than that, looks pretty good. Nice work

paint is a tad bit shiney. use [prim,env:8,spec] instead. Thats hella shiney.

He's using a texture with autosphere wrap...the way it should be done. I like my trucks/cars shiny. It is kind of like cars in real life that have been buffed and taken care of really well..very glossy.

Looks good risky, but the windshield still doesn't look quite right. It looks a little bit too grey. Maybe try changing the texture color to black and use more alpha.
