It can be either extremely easy, or really difficult.

Steps that should be taken:
1. Find your motherboard on the manufacturer website, and download the latest BIOS version.
2. Put it on a flash drive
3. Restart your computer
4. Enter the BIOS by hitting the button. It could be DEL, F12, or something like that
5. Look around for the BIOS ReFlash Option
6. This is where it could be difficult, it might be as simple as declare the location of the BIOS flash, or you might have to manually flash it through DOS commands.
7. ???
8. Profit

Now that's just retarded. You don't need your BIOS to be a specific revision for windows 7 to activate...

The BIOS is the thing that runs Windows. Windows cant startup by itself.

Well in the terms i was using it runs windows (ie: starts it up) so that it can perform by itself after it has been loaded

One does not simply achieve this level of retardation.

The BIOS is a part of CMOS that allows the computer to boot up, and for you to change parameters, now if you wanted to "Buy a new BIOS", you have to buy a new CMOS chip (which isn't sold for consumers) and you basically fuck the whole motherboard because it won't work.
