Title: CVT radio
Post by: zimon on May 18, 2012, 23:05
hi, I did play CVT to day and I did come got one thing on my mind.
why has no one started a CVT radio station yet?
where players/staff of the station can brodcast ther own radio show
maby annonce events, server updates, news about cvt players etc.
and maby a music top hit list or some thing.
I play some times on an RPG radio and they got a radio station for the "RP country"

so why do not some one start a radio station and mick maby will add it to the "free radio" list

I hope you understand my idea.

it is NOT the server staff that will run the radio station, it will be CVT players (and a server staff can off course apply to be a part of it)

I remember awhile ago Hax did something like this, and he had a form that we could request songs. It was pretty good :D

I wish we had a CVT radio and we could request songs on it + it gives us info about events and updates.
Also it we could advertise our clubs on that CVT radio by giving ingame money to radio host.
We could have sub-forum for that maybe...

or maybe someone could make a club like CVT Radio club which can do this work, but that would be only for VIPs though.

Maybe a player can also do a recording, that gets played like, 'Hi guys, this is <whoever> and your playing the best SAMP server ever, keep on trucking!'
That, would, be awesome.

I tried to make one when the ability to use your own radio stations but for some reason some people could tune into the station while other's couldn't hear it. We had DJ's and stuff from CVT using it but the server kept going down. I might make it again and host it on my other computer as long as I can find a decent host that is free. It won't be CVT Radio, probably one for our club again.

You can host a radio if you want. It may not be official, but I could add it to in-game radiostations, provided it will be 24/7, and in English.

Also, if you could add a web interface for server to request songs, that would be neat. Players would be able to request songs in-game.

My scripting knowledge=HTML and very little PAWNO

Would I even need to script anything for this? Im sure there is a little PAWNO but Im not sure him much.

You should take help of joshy :D
He is good in it.

I think mick88 just meant to make a web interface, not a pawno script for server.

He meant that make a web interface, where we type the name of song, and our ingame name. And then that song you will have to search and add it to the playlist of radio which can be played ingame. (Thats what he meant by "ingame", not a pawno script).

And if the title can be set as "[Song name]-[author name] requested by [ingame name of who requested]" then that would be more cool.

You need to make it like this that no song gets repeated in playlist of that radio.

Then it will be added ingame by mick, so that we can listen.

But I can't make this suggestions thingy.. :(

I can DJ if you would like Avery, and I know PHP and PAWN, so I can help with the web and IG request systems. All it would take is being able to enter user input into a MySQL database, and a webpage that JS refreshes that list every x seconds for new requests, with a tick bock when you have played them to purge them. Simple, 30 minutes.

And I don't really feel like making a user authentication system...

1. Forum section for Radio DJs only, DJs cmds at server (about radio)
2. Max 1 or 2-3 DJs who will play when others are offline only, or make a schedule for them..

If Mick would add those commands, why would he ask for a web interface for song requests?

Shared password it is, I'll make it change daily for security reasons.

I've made a song request list for DJs to use. However instead of using web interface, it would be easier to create a table in the CT database and use that instead, maybe also host the request list on website?

Anyway, POST / GET?

Maybe as you guys choose how many DJs there will be, build out schedule out of them and how long they want to be on air etc etc, then make some open slots for Djs to jump on. Also somekind automatic player when theres nobody on air. I may be DJ if i have time.

Offtopic: Wee computer works again :D

not everything people do will necessarily be added by mick, snake. damn you think anything thats "cool" will be added and anything you do with the CVT name makes it automatically official

BTW I would like to have an in game song selector thing.. sounds better since I cant use my radio station for the vipradio.

I asked for web interface, so server could send POST or GET query with player's request, that would automatically be parsed by radio.
I would then add song requests in /phone, so players would pay $1k to request a song (so they don't spam).

I own a shoutcast Server. But it would require each and every member to get Sam Broadcaster or Virtual DJ to do a live stream
My station is named Patriot Radio. I will not post any links currently due to lake of DJs at my station. But i do have a live Chat and the Station works fine. a Maximum of 50listeners can tune-in at the same time. It is only a small radio station but it could work.. We are hiring DJs currently.

Here is my idea:
Have different DJs that would play a unique genre of music (a few country, a few rock, etc.). DJs would have to have a min of 300 hours on the server and must show they know how to broadcast on a live radio station. While DJs are offline, we could have a playlist of all the songs that have ever been requested auto-playing, so we have a variety of genres playing.

If you want a better stream rate, pay for it. No free host is going to give you 128kbps. And its on auto-dj, just playing random shit from my folder. When we actually get this set up, then Ill actually DJ.

Well if some DJs wanna play different genres thats fine. Maybe it should be up to the DJs what they wanna play. For example, Im not gonna play rap/R&B/Dubstep, but other DJs might. While we are not live, we will have all genres playing.

then whats the point in "song request"
You mean that will be played only if there are no DJs?

My suggestion:
My idea is to fix 7 different timings for 7 days.
24 hours divided by 7days = 3.43 hours
Therefore song request time will be like this:
Mon: 00.00 to 3.43 [GMT 0]
Tue: 3.43 to 6.86 [GMT 0]
wed: 6.86 to 10.29 [GMT 0]
thur: 10.29 to 13.72 [GMT 0]
fri:13.72 to 17.15 [GMT 0]
sat: 17.15 to 20.58 [GMT 0]
sun: 20.58 to 24.01 [GMT 0]

And one song requested can be played for next 7 days, then the request expires.
By this fixed time (you can take any fixed time) atleast we will also come to know when the requests are gonna played so that we are online that time, other wise there is no point in requesting if we are not even online while the request is processed.

Ok, lemme try to explain:

A player request a song while a DJ is online. The DJ gets the request and may or may not play it. If the DJ is playing country music, then the request for that live session would only be country songs. After they are played, they are added to a master playlist that plays while a DJ is off. Some DJs will play whatever is requested, others might only play a certain genre and only songs of that genre are played while he is online. While a DJ is offline, the song request line is closed. Im sure storm can do a much better job at explaining this than I can.

i hear 96kbps :o poor :/ but I hope to hear some other songs than american :P
tbh Stephen Lynch sux.. its good for sleeping not for trucking imo :o
If you want a better stream rate, pay for it. No free host is going to give you 128kbps. And its on auto-dj, just playing random shit from my folder. When we actually get this set up, then Ill actually DJ.
nopee :) listen2myradio allows for 320kb/s even, tried personally :)

listen2myradio also requires you to listen through their player, and if they detect someone isnt, they will shut down the station.

just dwonload all the songs you like and put it on iTunes, before you start play SAMP play it. SO while your are playing you can listen to your own music and not the radio channel.

easier to use AIMP2 which is a small and nice player, works very well while playing :)

I love this idea, and I am willing to do some of the talking, I could record some segments. That would be really cool, someone should set this up.
