Title: Pc freezing issues.
Post by: Clutch on April 22, 2012, 16:49
Hi.When i play GTA 4 , or any "High Preformance" game my computer freezes. Its freezes hard. The screen will just stay the same and have a lot of dots that are red and blue. And makes an highpitch anoyying sound. This happens like after 15 minutes of gameplay. Any ideas? Help, please.

The red / blue dots might be from the graphics ( I'm not an expert so correction is well approved )
But i know that if the sound thing is, you have something that's generates heat.
Why don't you check the chipset with digital thermometer and see what temps you'll got.
I quite sure it's the chipset cuz a friend of mine had a similar problem, which later was discovered that the chipset had it's days...

This is the common "Video Card Crash"

I used to experience this back when I used a machine with a 9400GT, it's when your graphics card overheats, and to prevent it from self-destructing, it basically stops computing so it can cool down. Usually it will produce that weird frame jitter and annoying electronic sounds. You should attempt to either cool your card better, or lower the settings (or get a new graphics card) to prevent this from happening.

Na, You need to disable one thing in control panel options. It is often on Windows 7, it's called

' Windows Eventlog ' , disable it, restart PC, have fun. Works for 100%

The dots is your graphic card overheating, clean the heatsink/fan

And it doesnt just happen for this game.
It happens for a lot of other more "high quality" games. Such as German Truck Sim. Gta 4. Dead island. BattleFeild 3. etc..
