Title: Run for the border

~~~POST WHAT YOU DISLIKE OR WANT TO ADD TO THE SUGGESTION! THIS IS A PLAYER FORUM AND ANY INPUT MIGHT GET THIS SEEN ON THE SERVER!!!!~~~ <3 you all! - lindsey.
Run for the border, the new CVT Stat! This is a spin off from our Cop and Thief classes, and works as a very handy fun game.
It's very different to thief yet the same!
When your arrested, thief or not, you'll be made to start a mission. However you can cancel the mission via /stopwork.
Onto the mission!
You'll be spawned to the closest police station to your arrest, There will be a premier or a similar speed car (Cars between 180-200kph will only be spawned, NRG included)
Your timer then starts at 3:00 and counting, once your get in and drive at 50kph, or if you've been in the car for 60 seconds.
You then have to outrun and stay ahead of the cops for a whole 180 seconds, by which time you'll be free! However if you accept the mission once you do trigger the timer in any way you will have one star!
I can't think of the rewards on this one, i think it's an excellent idea for a new mission type, and yes will take a lot of coding but i think it'll add something new and interesting into CVT.
Perhaps you can choose more time? You can have a command of /border1 /border2 /border3
Border1 is 3 minutes, border2 is 4 minutes and border3 is 5 minutes.
The cash payout per win is 50% of their bailout (/border1) 75% on /border2 and 50% on /border3 BUT you get 2 "run for the border" score instead of 1!
/fix and /flip do NOT work. /fixcar DOES work.
EDIT: Once the timer runs out, regardless of cop location (close / far) you will lose your star!
gonna take alot of work by anyone who scripts to get it to somewhat of a perfection state and you should have an option to turn this on/off because I dont want to use /bailout, grab the closest car and have this automatically start everytime.
"anyone who scripts" = anyone who knows how script do it and show the features because I dont believe Mick is going to be doing this...this could potentially land you a scripter job
You won't, if you read it you have the option once you bailout to /stopwork (you'll recieve a message on your screen, like an announcement stating "you are not in run for the border mode, please /stopwork if you wish to discontinue this activity, there is no penalty.
As with all work it's a choice.
Maybe, it can be the other way around, once you /bailout you can do /border1 /border2 or /border3 and then that initiates it?
Din't mick say 'dont suggest' :  ANY new type of mission - I am aware of all types of vehicles and possible classes for missions but they will added only on my own initiative.
That's a list of already suggested ideas, not "do not suggest this because it's naughty" Mick probably won't add this, or may add it next year when he has time, either way i'm bringing my ideas to the table and if it's rejected, that's that.
however as i'm aware it stated this is a suggestion board, i know that. So i'm happy to post here and be denied, rather than having an idea and hiding away because i'm scared of mick's reply :P
Nah, that's too easy IMO, and there are sometimes (especially in the afternoons) too much suspects and not enough cops.
Once a suspect is arrested he should be in jail :)
BUT, this mission could be interesting when you break out of jail.
So +/- 1 :)
Maybe after the time is up for the chase, you have to get to a marker, at a port, docks, or airport.
You say that, but everyone who isn't new just uses /bailout as soon as they get jailed.
Lindsay, +1.
Very nice. I doubt it will get scripted for CT, but I will use this idea (with some little tweaks) on my server :D. Hope mick adds it.
This would be cool with the breakout command too. Once you break out of jail you have to escape the cops for at least a minute without getting caught, which would be easily attainable if when you broke out you were at a cop station that isn't near any cops at the time and there was a vehicle waiting for you and you can use /breakout successfully everytime :P
Here are my second thoughts about it:
Better to be implemented but using a specific car, because once you have an NRG on your hands, chances to get caught are slim to none.
That means, everyone could bail jail. Also, repair should not work.
Yeah...well...I had second thoughts about that to... Did I say  "little tweaks"? I think I changed the hole nature of this thing just for my purpose.
 :ukiddn: Do you wanna find anymore ways to waste police time?
Also most of CVT is based loosely around RL. this has no relation to life whatsoever
So if a guy breaks out of prison cops don't chase them? oh ok! Didn't know that r16!
It wouldn't make sense with bailout, since thats legal (?), but with breakout, it sounds fun.. Correct me if i'm misunderstanding the whole thing here..
Rather than a specific amount of time you need to spend running away from the police, instead implement a certain area (or checkpoints) for the user to drive / run / fly / airbreak to.
What would be the point of that? That is simply like thief, except "you have to go this route" which is VERY easily camped.
There are enough camping cops as it is, this would get cops having to move, because the player can go where they like, and if they use their map correctly they could dodge cop "hotspots" easily.
Mick could always use a random coordinate generator, therefore there wouldn't be much camping since everything would be pseudo-random.
It would be very nice like in NFSW (btw if someone plays that add me ass friend micg502) u have a track that is called escape u have a route and time and (ur car but u can have in cvt spawned by lucky choice like pick a number or smthing it would be nice)..So linds i give u +1!! :D
