Hey guys. Just a kind of really advanced query here...
A few days ago I bought some software called pc tools registry mechanic. Now for some reason it will not run. And ive done some extensive research and found that this is because of something called DEP. But for some reason DEP is greyed out and it wont let me turn it on.
Some suggestions on the web told me to use the command and prompt to enable it by doing this:
bcdedit.exe /set {current_state} nx AlwaysOn
And then enter it. This still wont work.
I cant seem to find any way to enable it. I'll post screenshots tomorrow.
Hope someone can help. Thanks :)
hmm
I had problems with UT2004 running on win 7 back in times, i went to
System > Advanced system settings > Advanced > Performance > "Settings" > Data Execution Prevention
can you choose the turn DEP on for all programs execpt ones i choose below?
Go into your BIOS setup and make sure "eXecute Disable" or "XD bit" or "NX bit" is enabled.
