Me and HappyTaco, a while back used to play on a roleplay server for a bit, and there was a afk system like CT.
Except it was /afk and /back. But if you typed /afk, it would say on screen, YOU ARE AFK. TYPE /BACK WHEN YOU COME BACK, or something close to it. It doesnt flash, it just stays on in the middle of the screen.
It also freezes you, but probably wouldnt be the best idea.
This could be good, because i have sometimes seen myself in instances, where im driving afk next to my name. Ive seen it with other people too, and just told them to do /8 via admin message.
Ive also seen people complain that they were wanted before /paying fines before they did /8. This could also be added someway.
Some players hit alt+tab or alt+esc directly when they leave the keyboard or handle another program, and that was cool before, because the game paused automatically. With 0.3d out, the game doesn't pause anymore, and people have to hit only escape, before minimizing the game. Some of them don't know that and that's how they get wanted. /7 and /8 are just for announcing other people that you will be afk, they doesn't keep you paused.
So yeah +1 for the idea.

Though to be honest, it will never happen. It involves Mick doing something & well, the Christmas is coming is still displayed for heaven sake...
Maybe we need to add a /afklist.
There you can see who's AFK.
Then you don't need to look at TAB anymore.
afk list? the point is not to get busted for nothing...No one would check that list because it would be no use.
AFK goes away when you start driving.
and on a few roleplay servers admins and mod have a writting on them like: Moderator On Duty or sth like that

AFK (/7) should freeze a player (and his truck+trailer) to avoid crashing and the only two cmds he can type should be: /8 and /pay

+1 to that sentence
