Hi,
Ok, I am so sick & tired of cops "accidentally" ramming & getting away with it. Something needs to be done, I have lost 5 loads over 4 days because of cops weight checking on the ferry, blowing up gas stations, drifting round corners & so on. I'm sick of paying for the load loss & the cops don't even apologise. I don't know what else I can suggest, every idea I have had to help the server police become a better driver has been completely ignored by administrators.
I don't care what is done but something must be done, as I said I am so sick & tired of idiot drivers, getting in a cop car & thinking they can do what ever comes into their little idiot mind. Because they get a siren & get to stop trucks they then start thinking they can push in front in construction sites & what have you.
:cereal:  :female_rage: :gtfo: :why:
Since this is a topic where people would like to argue etc etc and thats not allowed within the ''reports and requests'' board i placed it here.

OK Skippy. Here is two cents worth from a cop's point of view. This is by no means an excuse for all ramming, but it does cover quite a bit of it.
Cop follows truck, issues ticket or tags for weight check. Truck locks brakes and cop hits rear of truck or cop swerves into another truck to avoid collision with first truck. Or truck doesn't stop right away forcing cop to follow after issuing ticket or weight check. So cop is speeding up to catch truck when truck locks brakes forcing same situation to occur. Trucker usually does this right in the middle of the road, and doesn't pull to the side. The trucker blames cop for ramming and whines about having to be weighed when he "NEVER OVERLOADS".
Another one. Trucker with fines is in the middle of three or four other trucks. Again, gets tagged for ticket, hits brakes and cop again tries to avoid collision with ticketed truck but hits others due to loss of control.
And another. Trucker has fines. Knows he has fines. Sees the cop following. Goes as fast as he can. When cop gets close, trucker locks the brakes. Collision occurs. Trucker whines about getting rammed again.
The bad one. Cop is pursuing suspect. Lights and siren blaring. Cop is passing truck when truck turns in front of cop. Collision occurs. Intentional ramming whine is posted.
And always from the trucker you see "Stupid Noob Cop". Gee. That makes me sure want to extend and apology. You see, it gets old from a cops stand point also. I see truckers jack-knife in front of me all the time in an attempt to get me to hit them. Accidental ramming occurs a lot. But from my standpoint, it is usually attributed to, shall we say other factors. As I say, this isn't always the case and I have seen a lot of stupid cop moves from a truckers point of view too. But next time you get hit, consider what the cop is involved with at the time. If worse comes to worse, PM him and ask "Why".
ThomasKirkman C:-)
You do know, if you look at the mini-map before corners, and stop for cops smoothly (don't lock on brakes), you won't have any problems.
even if a cop has failed trucker's mission not intentionally, he should give him back money for that,
coz its his fault, trucker doesnt care bout that he was pursuing or driving for fun,
just give him back money for failed mission, and he wont be so mad..
but some of cops are intentionally ramming or blocking for fines,
they doesnt care that trucker will crash to water or sth,
they wants his shitty $150..
i agree with Santroo i hate when they fine me on the ferry it againsest the rule and they jail u cuz u did god damn pay the ticket cuz of idioit cops who dont read the cop rule and that why we get shitty
i think the problem is not good cops here, but ones that piss around, try and beat other cops to tickets, tailgate tickets and weights. Now that SF driving school is open, we should use it. I used to be a cop all the time, but then all this sorta shit started coming up. now, all i do is go after players i know wont have a bitch because i weighed them or whatever.
COPS: this is a trucking server. respect the truckers. don't do stupid shit
TRUCKERS: They're doing a job, don't slam on the brakes
OK $nake, lets follow that line of reasoning for a second. What will the truckers give the cops when they cause the cop to crash into them? Humm? Ya. Not a damn thing. OK how about this. When a trucker sees a cop is coming after him and knows he has fines. But goes until the cops gets behind him and tags him before stopping, I think the trucker should give him an extra $10,000 for all the fines and overweights he had to pass up just to catch that one trucker. Fair enough? Didn't think so.

look.. im a trucker, ur a cop.. (as example)
1. u r ramming me incidentally, im falling to water, im mad
(/i did it)coz ive failed my mission, even not incidentally, but still.. and u wont refund..
uve lost nothing, ive lost my mission which should be finished and money, which ive lost..
2. i had a lag when i just crashed and nothing big happend, u r in water, u r mad,
but I DIDNT FAIL ur mission, coz watered cop will lose nothing.. is that fair ? nope!
to be fair, u should lose ur money while falling to water, but its not a problem..
R16, Say you have fines. You see me turn around and start coming after you. You are the only truck I could be coming after. BUT, you keep driving full throttle. I pass 5 or more other trucks that have fines before catching up to you and issuing you your ticket.
Are you going to pay me for all the fines I missed because you screwed with my job? Hell no you aren't.
And $nake, you finish mission, you get $8000 for 3 minutes driving. I drive all over map for $150. It all comes out in the end. You will never get cops or truckers to pay the other unless there are honorable people involved. And frankly there are only a handful that I would consider re-imbursing.

but still.. even if limo driver losts mission coz of me, i will ALWAYS refund him, if not, i will still just for ramming..
THIS is called
being friendliness, nothing more, if u feel that second person (crashed one) has lost sth, refund him..
idk what person is needed to be to dont do that, idk what person is needed to be,
to be a dick who doesnt care about others problems and wont try to help..
i just cant dont help when some1 needs it..
Yeah that too. Even if it is the truckers fault, I always try my best to see everyone is as happy as possible. & Josh yes I do use my map. I always look around corners for traffic & what have you. What I am complaining about is the police causing it. Not all police are this bad, I think it's the ones that don't talk in the chat box, have no real reputation & therefore have nothing to loose by not driving sensibly.
I think along with a written test, there must be some type of driving test or something. It amazes me when people send a /pm ski "What does it mean if a player is red on the map?" I know in my old group of game mates, I think two of us did not cheat that test. Everyone cheats on the test & that is why they don't know about the rules, also I think a large portion of the test must include something that trains them about lag. Something like:
What should you do if a truck is slowing down as if they are no longer on the accelerator? (Paused trucker)
Some people have large truck mods, what can you do to counteract this so there is no accidents?
Truckers sometimes can take their eyes off the road, how can you drive to avoid any collisions if this occurs?
Because last I took the test there was nothing like this, back then even I had no idea lag was that bigger problem. Though from what I remember I've never caused an accident while on police duty. It's pure & simple common sense & that skill has gone with the tide.
But those are the type of things they should have learned during the 100 missions it took to get their badge.
Other questions for the new test.
What should you do when you stop a trucker to weigh him and after he is done weighing he backs into your police car?
What should you do if your trying to pass a trucker and he pushs you into oncoming traffic?
What should you do when other police officers ram time and again during a pursuit just so they can be "First"?
Collisions happen. Record it and report it. Best solution.
ThomasKirkman
Yes but sometimes its a genuine accident, what I want to stamp out is most of those accidents, I think the bar needs to be raised. In my opinion accidents don't get punished but on purpose, yes, If you train the players better, less accidents happen. I don't want everyone going around reporting every time someone jumps a curb, I don't like raging at someone over a chat box, but if they are an idiot enough to be doing what I have seen people doing then I will. Like I said, I just would like better training provided & make the server a little but more enjoyable for everyone.
I think the bar needs to be placed at 500 truck missions + at least one of any achievement. (apart from Super Cop ofc.)
So what limits are you thinking of imposing on other vehicle classes. You need to remember that the player base ranges from very young, to err, umm, older. The whole idea is to have more responsible drivers and you are not going to get that by limiting the number of runs they make. It has been my experience that people are idiot drivers on mission number one with a score of 0 and in many cases even more so at mission number 1284 with a score of 3062. Accidents are just that, an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage. If it is an intentional ram, report it. Cops are just truckers until you are wanted. If they hit you on purpose, it is a violation. But there will ALWAYS be collisions where a lighter faster car is behind a large truck that stops on a dime.
Like i always say on topics like these, where u want to see things happen about the police in the long term it will not help much because they will find a way to do those 100 or 500 truck missions, or cheat on their tests. And like thomas perfectly explained in his last reply ( i didnt read the others they are to long xD ) accidents happen and when its intentional u could report but otherwise u need to accept that where there is a online community, everyone acts different and like in real live shit happens bro.I know that it seems hard for ya now skip but shit happens how sad that may be :(

hell no im not beacuase its your choice to keep pursuing me. You could have easily taken 2 seconds to reduce speed and hit 2.
ps. late reply cause i was sleeping
Your missing the point.
Paying a trucker for loosing a mission due to an accidental collision
VS.
Paying a Cop for intentionally causing him to loose fines because you won't stop in a timely fasion.
If some asshole trucker doesn't stop and I catch up to him, I don't care if I hit them, they know it's their fault, same if they block me I get passed them and cut them off if they are being a dick I lag ram them, I don't care if they loose their mission, fuck em. They should be able to see flashing lights and hear sirens.

i agree that gives us cops a bad name, i usually try get beside to fine trucks but it doesnt help when they lag and swerve all over the road, if its a single road and they are lagging like mad i stay back if theyre too laggy its just not worth going after them.
on the other had some truckers dont help themselves by going full pelt then slamming on the brakes causing me to hit them anyway.
this whole topic is why im not a cop anymore. all that happens is shit gets thrown at you. there wouldn't be this problem if we went back to not following for fines.

I don't call myself a pro cop, I treat others the way they treat me, so if you can't stop to pay a FUCKING ticket or you start bitching at a cop for weighting your truck, or when a cop is chasing you to weight or ticket and you slam on the brakes and the cop hits you and you start bitching, then you are just an idiot. Now I will be reporting evey trucker that acts like a dick towards me.

and do that :) if they r deserving for that, ofc :P i have a nice strategy against weighters:
not this time :)
R16. Following for fines has NOTHING to do with this topic. It has everything to do with following to ticket the offender.
I follow after I issue a ticket, but at a safe distance. That has nothing to do with trying to get close enough to cite them in the first place.
You have to be at a certain distance away from a vehicle to ticket the offender and that is why collisions occur. Getting close enough to allow cops to ticket the offender puts the cop in a "Tailgating" position which is begging for an accident. Those collisions often result in the trucker loosing control of his load and failing his mission. It happens. If a cop feels that he is responsible for the collision and pays the trucker for his lost load, good for him. If not then I guess you should avoid speeding OR JUST PULL OVER.
Or the weighing and fining detection range could be increased, but please keep the arresting one the same, because they can ram.
Yes, please increase the fine/weigh range cause there are times when I attempt to fine someone and am practiacally on top of them. Its those times that some lag spike happens and I'm either underneath them or they mysteriously show up behind me and I'm soon accused of blocking for the fine or weigh.
Oh and Wolf, I'm now keeping an eye for anytime you attempt to fine or weigh me cause if you cut me off or "lag" ram me after, I will be reporting for ramming and blocking. You don't deserve that badge with that unprofessional attitude.

For me, I'm not prefect at cop and nearly always hit someone but I do say sorry and sometimes pay people even if they don't lose there load. But we need to stop those idiots who hit and run ramming for fines and blow up gas stations. We should only have expects like Thomas being cop.
Im a guy that i like to be a cop and when im in duty i chase ppl for their tickets they wont stop and i have to speed so suddendly boom they decide to stop and the cop behind them crashes into thier trailer or avoids and hits something else. Just if you see a cop behind you and as much as you hate the its simply stop before they start chasing you.
The main point of this topic for me, is to try & iron out the noob police drivers if possible. I'm not saying all of the people doing police work are horrible, but some are. As I said I think there needs to be an overhaul of the test & harsher punishments for anyone caught trying to cheat it. It does just take one accident to cause a squabble, & I get that most of it are accidents. However there are one or two chronic idiots who cease to learn to drive.
For example ALEKOSZ is good most of the time, but more recently he has been making a lot of "mistakes", as in real life I think people should sit the test once every 6 months to be allowed to do police work. & just alter it slightly every 6 months.
I understand why some cops do ram other players, I don't think they should do it but I understand them, if I join the police to drive around with my friends and take a break from trucker, we only gets; "Fuck noob" "Noob cops" "lol a 'Respected Trucker' hahahhaah"
If the police have to change the way they do the things on so do the truckers.
Sorry if my english is a bit bad, I just got tried of allways the police is the bad guys.
Skippy, I see and understand what your goal is and would like to see improved police performance myself. However with players coming from all over the world and being of all different ages, I don't think making the test more comprehensive would change much. I see many "qualified" cops acting like complete idiots a lot of the time. They get cocky and do stupid things and then drive off with the attitude that the other player is a noob and that the accident was their fault.
I try to help newer players in the game whenever I can. However I get punished by admins/moderators for answering questions. I was asked the other day by a trucker how I could tell that he needed to be weighed. I explained the green icon to him and an admin/moderator sent me a message telling me not to give out answers to the cop test because that player had not taken the test. PURE BULL SHIT!!! I don't give a damn if he had taken the test or not. He asked me a question about my job. He didn't ask for test answers. And even though those types of questions are on the test, I don't see any problem with someone researching an answer by asking or reading up on it. If people did that more often, we might even have better cops. If they aren't to know the answers, don't print them anywhere. (Sorry, got side tracked).
Anyhow, test improvement is a good idea; however I don't think it will solve the crash problem. I think the best solution is increasing the submission limit a little bit. That would also help reduce lag crashes.

Your telling me you cant pull up beside him? 95% of roads in SA are wide enough to pull up beside a trucker. Trust me, i do it.
OR follow at a safe distance until they slow to take a corner or something and then ticket them. And don't whine about missing fines while your following, because you can always choose not to follow him and wait until he wants to pay.
Pull up beside him. Good idea, except most the time to trucker is driving down the middle of the road or swearving back and forth. Slow to take a corner, yea cops could do that. IF truckers slowed down. And the biggy. "You can choose not to follow him" I can't believe we are still on this. What don't people understand on this topic? This isn't about following after the ticket is issued. It is BEFORE. Don't make me pull out the red crayon.

R16, by that same logic, the trucker doesn't have to haul that load. And they don't have to speed and get fines. And they don't have to overload. And they don't have to steal cars. All giving cops a reason to make contact with them. So R16, you see that it is ALL the truckers fault. Good logic. I like it.
