I am sorry to bump into this disscution as I see it became about owning more vehicles. I was cruising down San Fierro and an insane idea got into my mind that I think some of you may enjoy and some may probably not.

I don't find owning a second house as a solution. I am sure that one house is enough. So here my idea lights up: What if we turn this feature about owning more vehicles in a GTA V-ish way? There are so so so so many unused and useless garages (with garage doors) over San Andreas. What if those are going to be turned into something useful?
Bascialy: Player buys the garage. Gains 1 or 2 slots regarding on garage size. Player can store the vehicle(s) he wants into this garage. Whenever he wants to use the specific vehicle, he goes to the garage where he'll find a pick-up/levitating/rotating object with textdraw (Garage ###, Owner: [PLAYER]). There a menu like on house and shop menus shows up and asks the player what vehicles he wants to get out of the garage. Then he just gets spawned in his vehicle, just near the garage.
So it's just the same as in GTA V except we're not going to have a virtual interior but an extra menu to choose vehicles from.

This can also be improved if someone has some other ideas. Thanks

BINGO!

Or, we are paying 1M to each of our vehicle slot (like 32 vehicle slot house is 32m, 16 is 16m), so let us increase house vehicle slots with paying 1m more everytime.

That would make the slots system completely useless, wouldn't it?

Great reply, so what about making more expensive add slots to your house? Like 1.5m, 2m idk

I see your point, but there's only couple of houses +8slots, so If we consider we have low amount of  players, that would make sense

Vinny is right about making it possible to buy second houses, seeing how there are so many vacant houses available. But there should be a cap on how many slots could a second house have, the more slots the main house has, the less slots would the second house have. Also second houses should be two or three times their original price, just so it wouldn't be as easy to obtain one. I think a system like that would be better than the ability to upgrade the existing houses.

1.5-2 is maybe, still much, but 3 times is really expensive. If someone has 6 slot house which is normally 24m, when he wanna buy 5 slot house he should pay 60m to his second house? It's hard.

Maybe, he should pay his own house money for his second house with one less slots? Example:

He has 6 slot, If he wanna buy 5 slot house, should pay 24m
If he wanna buy 4 slot house, should pay 20m
for 3 he should pay 15m
...
..

i see upgrading your house as a way to go but it should apply to a certain range of houses and  for a certain price per slot

As we are getting global message that house ### is set for sale (price and slots), prices could go down without noticing it and we can get again a new global message like house ### is now for sale at the minimum ranking price (new price and slots).
This will make less wanted houses to be popular again, or at least will make sure that new players will get a house easier and they will hang around CT for longer.
^Just my fair opinion

Agreed. This could be a good addition to the server.

There shouldn't be effort required beyond putting the automatic system in place, since we don't need to manually appreciate individual houses.

Well things are easy:
Top wanted houses have full price or bigger
while
Less wanted houses have lower price

There are plenty of houses that no one wants to buy. How about making their price go down to a limit so it will encourage players to buy that house?

prices used to be unique to the house years ago it's just a lot more effort to do so

This idea was described by another player a few months ago, but I did not find it formally suggested.

Currently houses are in low demand because of small number of players, but prices are high. They are set to small number of standard values, regardless of area, look artificial and boring. Some houses seem overpriced and haven't been bought for a long time.

What constitutes a good house differs among players. One might look for nice interior, accesible parking, accurately designed yard without obstacles, or availability of short jobs from the area. A house might lack in all of these, but have gate or water access. (Crack den in the desert.) But if it is not bought, the consensus clearly indicates that is not good enough, without need to assign a numeric cost to each of the above qualities. Another player might have unusual taste and find a good deal.

I propose that houses for sale should depreciate over time. When they initially go for sale, they are set to the current base price or maybe 125% of it. Every realtime day, all houses would change to 99.5% their current value, down to some limit, such as half of the base cost. This would take 140 or 180 days (depending on whether it starts at 100% or 125%), for a 20 million house to go for 10 millions, which seems reasonable. Highly desirable houses with many slots or prestigous neighborhood that are bought immediately would cost the same or more. The calculated price should be rounded to millions, thousands, hundreds to look professional.
