because why would I pay 125,000 for your banshee when I can get it for 80000 (example) at the car dealers?
the price cap should be stay.

Players pay more than stock price because of the odo, i sold a Roadtrain in 500k.
Stupid because odo is just a number. Maximum for a road train should be 350k if it's new and less if it's used, same for other cars and same method as in real life. 500k nice scamming bro  :like:

I'm the one who bought it and sold it for 800k....
Many people steal from other players by giving themselves a value, but in reality they take away more than 1.2m "My Opinion"

Nice idea :like: <3

Before asking others opinion, why dont you tell how you see it. Its a server suggestion, and it's not about real life.
I just dont understand how a vehicle with 30000 KM driven on it would be more valuable than a brand new one, I dont get that concept.
Lets put it this way: you buy a 69 Chevelle SS brand new off the lot in 69 and pay 5k for it. You drive it home and park it in the garage and it sits till current day. If it was to sell today you could probably get 60k-70k for it. Thats a huge profit for doing nothing.

Now in CT, you buy a new roadtrain. 0 odo. you use that roadtrain almost exclusively and rack up 200k odo. Now obviously the whole wear and tear doesnt apply in CT, but who else has a roadtrain with 200k odo? not many.

It's a collectors thing. Why do you think people will pay 20 million for a pristine Ferrari from Le Mans instead of just one thats been driven, has problems and wear from use but only pay 500k for it? Because not many people can say they have it. It's a collectors mindset and some people like to pay the extra buck to say that they have that thing not many others have.

I hope I have explained this clear enough.

Real life concepts and standards do not fit in a virtual game, you can have 100k kms on your vehicle in game it will not change its functionning in the slightest

Its is because the vehicles with high distance have more value than normal vehicles.
how does anyone see this?

I agree with this suggestion. +1
It will help players in buying high odo vehicles without any confusion, and this will prevent scam.

Supported, in my opinion is a vehicle with a lot of odo worth more than a new one from vehicle dealers.

The used vehicle trading system was meant to be used as a dealership and not as a direct way to trade vehicles between players, and the dealerships only have a limited amount of space on their lot for the vehicles. Under the assumption that the trading lots would be mostly full, expensive vehicles (i.e. more expensive than "New" price) don't sell that well and will end up wasting space on the lot.

At some point during the development of the dealerships, the maximum price cap did in fact go up with the odometer, however it was removed before the Dev Team tested it.

Notes relating to previous test:
  • maximum price no longer scales with odometer, while I liked the fact higher odo vehicles were more rare and so more expensive, I also think there isn't enough demand for this. Maybe in the future this will be re-implemented.

Considering the lots are empty these days the price cap may as well be removed - however when trading vehicles (or removing it from the dealership) you will lose some of the cash due to trading fees (I think it was 3%), so if you trade an RT for $2m you will lose $60k. Maybe this fee should be derived from the new price of the vehicle or become a fixed fee.

Ideally a direct trading system would be made alongside the trading lots instead of removing the max price, and then make evicted players' vehicles automatically sell in the dealerships (which would fill them up).

True, as in real life newer vehicles with less kms are more expensive than those who have more kms but still there is no limit for the price you can set on a vehicle so why should we have it in game.

People are doing it with additional transfers anyway, so the existing price cap is useless.

If someone is willing to to pay millions for a Roadtrain, that's their choice. I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed. People are doing it with additional transfers anyway, so the existing price cap is useless.

Some playes (including me) really love high odo vehicles and in our eyes the value is higher than a vehicle with low odo. why would i sell my sadler with highest odo on the server for the default price if i can sell it for way more to a high odo lover :)

Exactly this.

You can always sell it for the max price and then /transfermoney the rest.

Why putting limits on the used vehicle selling system? Anyways players give the difference using /pay or /transfermoney.

This idea came to me because a player almost scam me because i couldn't sell the vehicle with the amount that we deal.
