I've edited your suggestion with one reason, it's bland, lame and no thought went into it in my opinion.
My idea stems from the fact that we still only have 1 road to WC. And I've always said that another one is needed.
So after seeing this thread, i decided to show you my idea, and why it would work.
Main points : Making sure that "most" missions aren't affected speed wise, it's unfair to the older players if thieving is now more easy.
Possibly 2 new "locations" where people can load new missions and spawn.
A "possible" road to some isolated island Houses. I suggest that the roads leading to their houses are Gated from the point where it isn't needed for public access. (there is some possible public access needed due to suggested mission point #1)

As you can see, there are different coloured roads.
Black roads that IVE ADDED are single carriageway roads.
Red roads, are possible Dual Carriageway roads (this might be a pain to map though, so that's up to mappers if they like this idea) The 2 "blocks" with a black "X" are possible new missions. The Red big block is a possible spawn point + mission + gas station.
Tell me what you think :D
(Blue roads are possible roads, that might not be needed, unless the mission block and houses are a good idea)

My road is more like flint county > WC. It'll make ferry still a good idea, and faster especially if you're already in LS.
I've also made the road come up by low lands because right now lowlands doesn't go anywhere down that road. It's a quiet road used for fuel and military base.
I think making it a bit more used would be interesting.
I am thinking that my road will still speed up a lot of thieving missions though, so perhaps start it in angel pine instead.

But well the ferry can be kinda relaxing, and I doubt that Mick want to delete something he worked probably quite a long time on.
This is a bad idea.
I personaly like the ferry and would never replace it with a road...You want to drive to the islands?Simple just use the road from LV.
I don't see where it says no suggestion to mappings ethan. Just mapping houses.

I dont like the idea, the main reason there isnt a road there already is because there is a ferry, be patient and use it, or be impatient, (Like me), and speed around to LV + the expressway.

+1 Lindsay, though the road should be closer to SF to make the ferry a bit more useful.
@Lindsay's idea: This could maybe stop cops being noobs/idling and camping the only viable way (I've thieved via the ferry a few times, with even fewer successes) from WC to anywhere else. At least thieves would have a decent chance at stealing and cops would have an actual job to do. Also, this may prevent crashes caused on the current Happyland bridge because it's very narrow.

Im not negative, I am trying to enforce what Mick has put forth pertaining to things like this and you can talk about this all you want but until this is moved to either general topic, off topic, or somewhere else, noone can suggest new mapping

Ive tried to run a road from VCI to LS, and Ive now realized that if anything like this were to work (not suggesting here) mappers would need access to Eyre, Fir or even Island docks there... so Im just adding to the "opinions"
