Title: Distance between load and unload
Post by: Xero on June 18, 2015, 21:32
I don't know if this was ever suggested, but I was wondering if there was a way to add the average distance between load point and unload point. When you hit work you see all the jobs but unsure which ones are longer and which are shorter for those that want more money to those that want shorter trips. Also adjusts between Miles and Kilometers.

Ex: Deliver supplies from point A to point B (AvgDist 5.8km)

Maybe there's a mod for it but I'm not good with modding my game, opcode hell haha.

How about making a hud addon when we use plan and we see how much we are away from the airport...that really helps when there is fog, sandstroms cause you often can miss the airport just because u can't see where you are

It could say how long is the routh in miles/kilometers next to the job.

I'd see this creating some lag in the server, and doubt its actually possible since theres no actual gps function in the original game. The scripters would need to create paths for all the mapped land, and import all the paths from the original map for a gps type function to be able to tell you the shortest route (thats the only route it could display because there are infinite routes in which you could take. Hell, you could drive around the map 5 times before delivering your load) It would be interesting to have but for the intended use I dont find it would be worthwhile to the scripters to create it

Its possible.

GetPlayerDistanceFromPoint(playerid, Float:X, Float:Y, Float:Z)

Just an FYI, distance isn't the only contributing factor to mission payouts.

Well obviously you can make an A to B line and measure it, and what the players would want is a full distance with the road lengths

And also the payout of the mission with the distance and price/distance ....

If its should price for distance when we maybe get moneyhunterz or moneysharks who want make only very priced hauls but in second hand, if players drive long distances when they make hard-core work.
