Not sure if this has been suggested but I propose the idea as follows in order to eliminate bad truckers from joining your convoy.

Upon typing /startconvoy you get the option to choose minimum convoy score to join your convoy.

For example, you type "/startconvoy", you then get the option "Minimum Score - ______" and you type whatever score you want, 50, 76, 9000, anything.

This may give leaders some control over who joins their convoys as I was just in one with a leader of score 7000 along with 6 other players all under 300 and I was being smashed out of the way by all of them besides the 7k scorer. I didn't report cause many were all horrible drivers trying to make a quick buck by driving really quick, perhaps thinking they make more money by getting to the unload faster.

Convoy leaders need more control because you don't always have the time to stop and type in a command to boot underscores/bad drivers out of your convoy.

Also stopping and typing in the pass for people that ask to join, whom are above these (or your own) set ranks, takes time as well.

I decided to try some mapping. This is just a sneak peak, far from complete.

I've decided to share this map for all to enjoy. This is one part I'll share as the other parts of it are still under development. Feel free to edit it as you wish. Once I am satisfied with it I will share the final. Let me know what you think and feel free to share any ideas that might improve on it. I did this a while ago, and had some players say they were going to beat it, has anyone done more then 7 achievements in 20 minutes yet? Or at least 8 in 25 2 Years ago almost.

Don't know if it has been suggested, or what not, but when we log on and have our friends we've added show a color (IE purple) so we know they're around when we hit the tab key. I dunno, just a thought cause us drunk guys would have an easier time knowing our buddies are around hahah

Our vehicles were damaged and one of the cars windshields cracked. Siding on the house was also damaged. We haven't seen this kind of weather in the last 40 years almost.

Members of the Ocean X team exploring the alleged "UFO-shaped" object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea say that their equipment stops working when they approach within 200 meters of the mysterious object.
According to professional diver Stefan Hogerborn, a member of the Ocean X team exploring the object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, the team's cameras and satellite phone stop working when directly above the object but start working again after they have sailed away.

Daily Mail reports Hogerborn is quoted as saying: "Anything electric out there - and the satellite phone as well - stopped working when we were above the object. And then we got away about 200 meters and it turned on again, and when we got back over the object it didn't work."

NTDTV reports diver and treasure hunter Peter Lindberg, said: "We have experienced things that I really couldn't imagine and I have been the team's biggest skeptic regarding these different kind of theories. I was kind of prepared just to find a stone or cliff or outcrop or pile of mud but it was nothing like that, so for me it has been a missing experience I must say."
According to NTDTV, the shipboard dive computer allegedly first recorded the temperature at the level of the "UFO" at minus one degree, which was not possible as the water was not frozen.
AllVoices reports that Dennis Asberg, a member of the team, said: "I am one hundred percent convinced and confident that we have found something that is very, very, very unique. Then if it is a meteorite or an asteroid, or a volcano, or a base from, say, a U-boat from the Cold War which has manufactured and placed there - or if it is a UFO... Well honestly it has to be something."
The object was found in May last year but it was not possible to put together a team to investigate because of lack of funding and timing.

Following announcement of the find, speculations have flourished about what the object could be, from a "plug to the inner world," to the "Millennium Falcon ship" from Star Wars, Lindberg says.
But skeptics have been questioning the accuracy of the sonar equipment, pointing out that sonar technology sometimes confuses rock formations with foreign objects. Many also believe that there is a distinct possibility that the object is an old shipwreck. According to Daily Mail, an estimated 100,000 objects are believed to line the Baltic Sea's floor.
Other critics are saying that the divers may be deliberately playing to "deepen the mystery." Such critics point to the report that Lindberg is hoping to take wealthy tourists down to see the object.
Digital Journal reports that the Swedish expedition described it as "Covered in soot, with little 'fireplace'-like structures and lying at the end of a 300-meter 'runway.'" According to The Huffington Post, the Ocean X team, in a news release on Friday, said at first they thought it was just stone or a rock cliff, but further observations revealed that the object "appeared more as a huge mushroom, rising 10-13 feet from the seabed, with rounded sides and edges."
RT reports that the mysterious object rises three to four meters above the seabed and is about 60 meters in diameter. According to members of the expedition, it is round with rugged edges and concave sides resembling a "huge mushroom" or as Star Wars fans prefer, the Millennium Falcon spaceship.

Lindberg, in a press release at OceanExplorer.se, said: "Since no volcanic activity has ever been reported in the Baltic Sea, the find becomes even stranger. As laymen, we can only speculate how this [could be] made by nature, but this is the strangest thing I have ever experienced as a professional diver."
Digital Journal reports that an observation of the team that has caused fascination is the 300-meter-long "trail" members of the team described as a "runway or a downhill path that is flattened at the seabed with the object at the end of it."
The description suggests that whatever the object is, it skidded along the "trail" before resting at its final position.
According to The Huffington Post, Hogeborn said, "I have never seen anything like this. Normally stones don't burn. I can't explain what we saw, and I went down there to answer questions, but I came up with even more questions."
The divers used a sledgehammer to obtain samples of the material. Hogeborn said: "Since we did not get any answers to the questions we asked ourselves, we have brought this to the experts who may be looking at the pieces we brought up."

UFO or USO?
The Huffington Post raises a question about the mysterious object: "Isn't it also about time that we all agree to refer to the anomaly as a USO, instead of UFO? USO, as in Unidentified Submerged Object. Because, in reality, nobody knows if this thing was ever in the air, flying, right?"
AllVoices.com reports that in two weeks, the Ocean X Team will return to the site in order to carry out further tests. At the next expedition, a specialist geologist would be on board.

I was just thinking about this the other day. When you finish your "Gravel Hauler Achievement", you unlock the ability to buy a big dumper. Before you would get the dumper in your car slot, that is, until it changed. You also get the $500,000 associated with the achievement, but if you want the dumper you need to spend that same amount of money to get it, so really, the only thing you're getting from the achievement is one of two choices, keep the money or keep the big dumper.

Why not change it so when they first get the achievement, they can still go to the dealer and get the big dumper free, but only one time. If they lose the dumper, they go back they have to pay. I personally never got this option when I finished since I got the achievement after it was changed to buy it when you finish the achievement, which kinda sucks lol.

Universal is hosting the 2012 Truck Driving Games!

This likely won't be just a one year event, it will probably be hosted once a month with possibly more events added each time or new ones! In the future these games may be club against club! The event will be on or around May 26-27th (subject to change) depending on your timezone. A timer will be added eventually when it's back up.

These games are for fun, there aren't any prizes involved but you will have bragging rights! Anyone may join! These games will test how well you can handle trucks, including a big dumper. You'll have time to try the courses on your own and the event will be one day, but two times on the same day so that people in different timezones can enter. Interfering in the event or person participating will end in disqualification from the event and possible a report for disruption.

There will be a point system based on a few things, the more points you get the better! These points are as follows:

• Each participant will start with 100 points for every course
• You will get one practice run
• Everytime you need to use reverse (expect during accepted reverse areas) you will lose 5 points
• Everytime you hit something you will lose 5 points
• The damage you do to your truck will also cost you depending on how hard you hit the object. For example: If you end up with 980 out of 1000 damage at the end of the run you will lose a difference of 20 points. If 960 out of 1000, lose 40 points and so on. This is not including trailer, only your truck
• Time is also a factor. The fastest time will earn you additional points. These points will be out of the top 10 players in each event round. I will keep track of the rounds and points so you don't have to, just concentrate on doing a perfect, fast time!

The first course is called "Tight Parking". It will be a parking challenge, not to hard but could be a bit tricky. Here are the rules:

• You can only drive a Road Train

• You can use a petrol or a linerunner.
• You can only use the dumper trailer, just for added effect

The fourth course is in San Fierro, it's called "Squeeze Through". It's a tight little track that will require some manuvering. Here are the rules:

• You can only use a Road Train
• You can only use any trailer or the one provided

Here's what you need to do:

This is the fifth and final round called "Conquer Chilliad". It will be a race to the top of Mt Chilliad with a Big Dumper. Only one contestant at a time. There is no video, it's pretty straight forward. Staff will be up top waiting at the finish point which will be explained during the event. Here are the rules:

• You can only use a Big Dumper (There will be one available if you don't have one or borrow from a friend)
• You can drive up any way you can, take shortcuts etc.
• You will get one practice round. If you fall off during the real run you may try one more time and only one more time

So that's the event! It will take some time to do all the events if you participate in them, depending on how many contestants show up. The person with the most amount of points out of the two events wins! There shouldn't be a tie but if there is, we will hold a tie breaker for the two.

This event will also require staff. You can join the event as a participant and be a staff member at the same time. Staff may be placed at various parts of the event like guides, coordinators and watching for cheating.

Since I've been around more recently in the mornings I will start hosting weekend events again for Universal Trucking! This race will be a 3 lap run in Los Santos.

Here's how it will work:

• Each contestant will complete three laps as shown by the picture below
• Contestants do not have to be Universal Trucking members. In future events you will have to be a member.
• Contestants will not take short cuts, ram, disrespect other contestants or you will be disqualified and removed from the race
• If you are not racing, do not follow the racers. If you want to watch, get a helicopter but watch out for other helicopters that contain staff and judges
• Only the select types of cars will be used and only used:

• Jester
• Elegy
• Phoenix
• Sultan
• Sabre
• Bloodring Banger

Only two places will pay unless there is 10 or more contestants:

I've seen suggestions one ideas of cleaning up vehicles when they are left in the middle of the road. I looked around and didn't find this idea, or maybe I didn't look long or hard enough.

When a player leaves the server, times out, reclasses or kills themself inside a vehicle, it should respawn to where it was. I see so many vehicles left on the road based on these 4 events that happen. It would have to be different then when a player gets out of a vehicle they don't or do own because you would lose the vehicle. But when you drive into water sometimes the vehicle more often then not gets respawned automatically.

Regardless of whether you own or don't own the vehicle, timing out, reclassing, killing yourself or just randomly leaving the server (by kick or by purpose) the vehicle you're in should respawn even if there's someone in it or if you own it. Sorry if this has already been suggested in this manner.

WASHINGTON — After hurtling through space for almost two days, the largest solar storm in five years is due to slam into Earth early today.

Scientists say the massive cloud of charged particles could disrupt utility grids, airline flights, satellite networks and GPS services, especially in northern areas.

The storm started with a massive solar flare early in the week, has been growing as it races outward from the sun, expanding like a giant soap bubble.

When it strikes early today, the particles will be moving at roughly 6.4 million kilometres per hour.

Astronomers say the sun has been relatively quiet for some time, and this storm, while strong, may seem fiercer because Earth has been lulled by years of weak solar activity.

The storm, which is part of the sun's normal 11-year cycle, was expected to arrive here between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Eastern Time and the effects could linger through tomorrow morning.

The storm is also expected to create more noticeable auroras or Northern Lights, which will peak this evening in North America and could dip as far south as the Great Lakes or lower.

Feel the need for speed? This coming Sunday we'll try for a Hotring only rally type race!(because it's a dirt track) If you don't have a Hotring, borrow one!

We will do a pre-race event with Motorcycles (any motorcycle welcome) doing the course of the track in a 2 lap race, so grab a bike and make sure your Hotring is handy if you are competing in the main event.

The track is fairly simple and will do a 5 rounds. You will need a co-pilot who will keep track of your rounds to help staff. The co-pilot will say what round they are on from the marked starting line. Make sure to join the convoy to see the countdown! You will follow the pace car first to make sure you know the track, then you will line up and wait for the countdown. Watch out for any trucks making deliveries

Rules

• Please no ramming other players.
• Spectators may watch from the towers located around the track.
• Should any helicopters come, please try not to crash into the course or each other
