Title: Larger Capacity Fuel Tanks
Post by: Vado19 on August 09, 2013, 22:54
My suggestion is based off of how things operate in real life in regards to the capacity of the fuel tanks of Trucks/Semi's, now in real life your average Semi truck has 2 huge fuel tanks on each side, one is the main the other is reserve or they can work either way around, now i was thinking if that could be scripted into the game somehow so that you would be able to drive much longer with trucks than cars or bikes due to their larger tank capactiy, of course you would spend alot more to fill the trucks tanks as you do in real life.

please comment below if you think this is a good suggestion thank you.

+1. Easy to script. Just an extra variable :)

I agree, it would be interesting to have a backup.

But people could just argue "buy fuelcans".

I think its more realistic to pay alot of $ to fill your tanks than just every few km's and pay under 100$ ( if you have rate one)
So yea i agree:P

i think planes fuel should be addressed 1º than truckers

just my 2 cents here

planes need new fuel system, not trucks

so cool so ran out of fuel in mid air without any type of warning

It's a trucking server, not a pilot server.

Suggestion seems cool, I'm neutral to it though.

1. we have two more scripters so Mick probably wouldnt even consider adding this (nice thought though) and
2. how would it be buggy if its part of a script that says 2x times the reg fuel tank?

the gas script or whatever it is in use can be redone to where you get double, so yes, almost anything (I think) could be scripted

So we should increase fuel rates too? since the price of gas/petrol/diesel however you want to call it has skyrocketed?

Maybe Rate 40?

The main tank is into the plane and supplies them to the engines. Most of the fuel arent on the wings, other way it wouldnt fly :|

Sorry, I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't say this. I just thought I would bring my expertise into this...seeing as how I'm a pilot and aircraft mechanic. 95% of the planes out there store their fuel in the wings. Most wings are actually giant structural fuel tanks (some have a rubber bladder in them). The plane that my dad and I are building has wing tanks that take up half the wingspan (and are built into the wings)  :P

On topic, larger tanks would be awesome. I swear I have used more fuelcans than times I have filled up at the gas station. Maybe after 500 truck loads you get the option to buy "long range tanks" on trucks. And after 250 plane missions, you get to buy long range tanks for planes. And maybe even offer the ability to buy bigger tanks for all other vehicles (cars and motorcycles and things) after driving 25,000 km. Just a thought.

Lol you guys know 0 about planes

The only vehicles who need better fuel system are aircrafts, you cant fuel them mid air, and landing in roads are phroibed so you cant even use a can between airports, while trucks can do all that

This is the defenition of selfish, only thinking of trucks when there are vehicles way worse.

Go play on a pilot/plane server then. This is a trucking server, hence everything is based around/on trucking. Planes are just a secondary thing you can do.
Do you think a dodo can be fueled in mid air? I doubt that.
Landing on highways is being wreckless, if you know youre going to run out of fuel, find a field to land in, then use a fuelcan. Its not rocket science. If you dont have enough fuel to make it to the next airport, you shouldve budgeted better and refueled BEFORE YOU TOOK OFF.
Rubber knows way more than you, possibly anyone here (maybe except Jasonkarvx and Sveki), about aviation.

The fuel tanks for all the vehicles need to be longer, and more expensive. 30km/$100 for one tank? thats nothing.

Says the guy who ran out of fuel when doing tanker missions

You talk shit, boy.
Spending $5k for more fuel means nothing to me, because i earn money fast enough its not a problem, what has that got to do with anything anyway? Its no different to running out of fuel on artic/dumper/cement/everything because you cant actually use the fuel from the petrol trailer. You know im right, sit down before you embarrass yourself more.

These are in truck class but not trailer class.

Generated by this SQL
Code (SQL) Select
SELECT * FROM `vehiclemodels` WHERE (flags & 256) = 256 AND (~flags & 16) = 16
or in PAWN
Code (PAWN) Select
if(vehiclemodels[modelid][VEHICLE_MODEL_FLAGS] & 256 == 256 && ~vehiclemodels[modelid][VEHICLE_MODEL_FLAGS] & 16 == 16) // this should work

Edit: it can be simplified to:
~flags & 16 && flags & 256

i think planes fuel should be addressed 1º than truckers

just my 2 cents here

planes need new fuel system, not trucks

so cool so ran out of fuel in mid air without any type of warning
all is correct land vehicle fuel is cheaper then aircraft cause it dont have so many users and its diffrent. its speccially created for aircraft. And its cost alot
