A new command!

Benny

I would like to suggest a new command, that is /changelog. (it could also be "/news" etc.)

It would be helpfull since alot of people ask in-game what is new when an update comes so this cmd would display the reacent changes that happend at the server.

I was thinking about suggesting this but then i thought how hard it is to open forum and check changelog topic.

No doubt it will be easy for players. but i am neutral.

Joshy

Honestly I think it's pretty simple to access the forum to see changelog, and don't see the whole need behind this command.

It also means the changelog must be stored on server, either in a file or in script, which means you lose the flexibility of forum formatting / thread system.

I'll consider it as I'm currently writing a file loader right now for maps... but it won't be high priority when compared to other things.

If the command had to show the entire changelog it would be much easier to just go to the forum to read it.
If the /changelog command only showed the latest update it could be pretty useful in-game for people that don't visit the forum often.

I'm neutral to this.
Useful and not.

Like holding in a fart that would be nasty and funny at the same time.

Matias

Maybe there could be a way to get the info from RSS at the changelog topic, then stream the first reply (which is always the one that contains the latest change) into a dialog, that could be awesome.

Dobby

Or you can use HTTP to fetch the results :) but seriously, can't you like, check the forum?

The reason we had so many dutch staff members is because dutch people generally are calm and chill. Just like jamaicans:) If we get mad, we rather first get weed and then rage:)

Matias

You can always check the forum a few seconds if you are really interested to know what's new or ask someone.

If you are too lazy for that.. god bless you.
