I will admit it is a good idea and could be worked, but I think there would be more negatives than positives, most players playing as mechanics will just follow their friends around and fix their vehicle, and for securicar stealers they could have their mechanic friend come along and fix the stolen securicar for them, same thing could go for the players doing mr banker missions. I feel it would just be too widley abused, mostly because people would farm it with their friend, friend hits a wall or purposely rolls their vehicle (Very easy with lowriders and hydraulics) and just keep fixing it over and over and get score and money.

First of all: it's funny how all you (except Twido) react to this suggestion, if someone else than Mick would have said it, all of you just (-1)'d it.

I do think this could lead to more careful players, I don't know, why Ethan thinks it couldn't. If you have to wait more time for fixing/flipping than now, you may consider driving slower on slippery/steep/mazy road. This would be a positive result, driving carefully, more like in real life.

Also, I do think the game would be more realistic, but more annoying or less playable too, because of the longer procedure of fixing a vehicle. It's funny now that Millie, the chauffeur girl can fix a totally broken coach in less than a minute (ok, 1 hour ingame ), but admit it, this is more comfortable this way. I don't want to rely on rookie mechanics when there are only 10 people online and there is no other choice. Or at least they have to be made very interested in helping, so that they won't troll innocent truckers.

And Mick, have you been thinking about airborne vehicles or ships?

Okay, this could work.

The way I think it should be.

Instead of there being a separate class, make a "mechanics permit" that you can buy at the store, that allows you to do roadside repairs, from any class, no extra class, or achievement needed.

Say if someone is damaged and does /mechanics it will pop up a list of those near with a permit, and they can call for help that way.

Keeping /flip would be a good idea, but perhaps fixing it to where it FLIPS & REPAIRS the vehicle, for the simple reason that, if you are flipped over, you mostly have 60 seconds to recover a trailer.

Also a good suggestion would be being able to do repairs from any personal vehicle within reason. Ex. A sportscars, and bikes would not be able to carry the tools needed, like a full size sedan, police vehicles, pickup trucks or semis could.

Keeping /fixcar would work, just limit a player so they can only fix their car to say... 75% health, if they wanted to do a full repair they have to have another mechanic do it for them,

Maybe on this way. When your truck is on fire and you type /fix the fire stops. So it would be good if you call assistance the truck's fire will stop and if the trailer is detached the timer will stop too.

There's a command called /flip if you never noticed that flips your truck if it got flipped.

No. for securycars you need to wait much if the driver is a noob and hit each pole

for truckers also you have 60 secs wich pass very quickly and you can fail much
