detecting IP addresses

Mick, my suggestion is to make script for detection IP addresses...
If someone tryes to write and IP address, instead of numbers put stars...something like this ... **.**.***.

Because some players comes to CVT and they spamming IP addresses in the main chat, and it's so annoying...

Hey,
The people who will spam a pm in main chat are always rookies..
So they don't know we have a "mute?" system against spamming ip's
Also all those spammers will Use the version with the dots, like this: 66.85.149.27:9500 (CT )

Mick can make a script which ignores the spaces, then it will not be evaded with the dots no matter where they put spaces between dots.

But then again, it will be of no use, people will find new ways.

Or maybe script that makes the name must contain half of the name + letters and less numbers.
For example, if your nick has 10 letters, 5+ MUST be letters, not numbers.

No one found how to evade color codes since you blocked them
Just dont let people write numbers with dots on it. If they try to write the IP in different messages they will get auto muted.

That's because SA-MP fixed it and it's only possible to do it in one specific way. IP addresses are different. To be honest advertising doesn't even affect the majority of people, who would gullible enough to use a server IP address from chat when rules say "do not post IP addresses".

It's probably easier to fix the automute system (more sensitive to wannabes?), inform players as much as possible about not using same password on another server and how doing such can lead to loss here. Other than that making scripts frequently to block variations of IP addresses is just inefficient and can be evaded.

Advertisers don't gain nothing if no players go to their server, they only got motivated when people complain about their spamming so automute can fix that.

Advertisers are not a problem when moderators are online.
Maybe the mute script could be more sensitive to wannabes when moderators are not online since all server advertisers are wannabes.

The problem with that is it's not "noob friendly". If I had just joined the server I might get annoyed that I can't talk in main chat and the amount of "/a How do I talk in chat?" would be insane.

I've got a cool idea /report [Name] advertising. Yeah I was being sarcastic, but there's always ways around blocking certain numbers, or stopping people from talking in main chat is daft, it'll be "/a how do I talk in main" all the time
