Just avoid acer, they suck at everything
LOL :itroll: yeah give us the price range and we can help

Yeah i would think of 500$ - 1500$

if you just want it for school this is the kinda thing you wanna get.

In basic terms:
i5
4gb ram
about 300gb hard drive

that should run gta reasonably as well.

Ps get w7 64bit if you can. 32 bit will only use 3.2 gb of the ram.

^^ I have no clue on what you are saying xD
You have a pc that have that on it??

If you struggle with this kind of thing. Take these specs into your local tecg store. Ask around and see what size laptop you can get with similar specs to this. But it must have at least 4gb of ram or you'll have trouble finding any games that run.

Matt with all due respect the ram is pretty much the least you have to worry about when running games. That's because you can pop out an old memory DIMM and put a new one in (high capacity obviously) and there you go. Easiest computer part to replace. Literally an ape could do it. Instead focus more on the 2 components that will determine what games you can (and can't) play which is the CPU (processor) and the GPU (video card/graphics card).

Most stock computers cannot have their ram upgraded. They are given a stock motherboard. Some more expensive computers can as well as custom ones. Think about it. If you were designing a computer, would you make it so that it is relatively easy to upgrade so that the customer doesn't have to pay for a new computer? No. You would make them buy a whole new computer. Marketing is the key here. Manufacturers don't make it so that it works out nicely for the customer. Most companies just want profit. This is why I prefer a custom/cheaper and more powerful pc. Most of the time it can be upgraded regardless.
